Jack’s Pumpkin Glow Is A Spooky Good Time Your Kids Will Love!
Jack’s Pumpkin Glow is a unique Halloween event your kids will love and you will have fun too!
Disclaimer: We were given complimentary tickets in order to review Jack’s Pumpkin Glow but this review represents our actual opinion of the event.
Jack’s Pumpkin Glow at Lake Fairfax Park reminds me of a cross between ICE! and a holiday walk through lights display. Only, instead of twinkly lights there are thousands of pumpkins carved and fashioned into really cool glowing pumpkin sculptures.
Is it worth it for your family to get tickets? Will your kids love it? Yep, this is a very kid friendly Halloween activity.
Tips for getting the most out of Jack’s Pumpkin Glow
First of all, buy tickets online to save time and money. Sunshine Whispers readers can get a 20% discount off of online ticket purchases using the discount code FRIENDLYGLOW20. This code is good for any time slot, just not anytime tickets. The ticket price without the discount code is $22.99 for adults and $16.99 for kids.
If you can, time your arrival for about 30 minutes before sunset. Why? Well, Lake Fairfax Park is super pretty and you might get to enjoy a gorgeous sunset before going in to see the glowing pumpkins!
Also, arriving a little early will ensure a better parking spot and you can grab a bite to eat before your pumpkin walk!
Go slow and enjoy the pumpkins. There are so many cool pumpkins. I don’t want to spoil it for you but you will see pumpkin carvings of some favorite movie characters, works of art, and other famous faces.
There is a sorta spooky pumpkin area but it isn’t over the top. It is filled with some pretty punny headstones that will appeal to parents more than kids.
Don’t worry about the kids though… there are plenty of crowd-pleasers for the younger crowd. Dragons, sea creatures, bees and butterflies, an amusement park, and of course.. dinosaurs.
At the end of the trail you can see an actual expert pumpkin carver in action, which is really cool. And don’t miss the singing jack o’lanterns! They are a riot.
Know Before You Go
There are plenty of restroom facilities. We used the public restroom on the lake side of the parking lot. There is also a public restroom at the beginning/end of the trail.
When you exit the glow pumpkin trail, your kids can pick up a pumpkin souvenir and decorate it if they would like. You can also purchase s’more kits from the food vendor and make s’mores right there before heading back to your car! We loved that perk!
Overall, we spent about an hour at Jack’s Pumpkin Glow and had a really fantastic time. It wasn’t too overwhelming for my 7-year old and she really loved seeing the different creatures carved into the pumpkins. I would highly recommend it!
