This clear painted Galaxy Ornament Craft is really cool and a fun Christmas craft idea to do with your kids this year!

If your kids love space.. or if you just want to make a super fun and really cool Christmas craft with them, you have to check out this Galaxy Ornament Craft. This is a surprisingly simple craft and shouldn’t be too messy since it involves paint inside the ornament (as opposed to actually painting something).

I love how this ornament looks like the night sky and the Milky Way. This Galaxy ornament would really look awesome on your tree this year and for years to come!

What you will need:

Acrylic paint in black, dark blue, silver glitter, or other desired colors (paints with glitter included work best)
Iridescent glitter, optional
Star stickers
Disposable cups
Clear Plastic Ornaments
Star garland

How to make the galaxy ornament craft:

1. Remove the hanging top from the ornaments.

2. Add about 1 teaspoon of glitter to the ornament if using.

3. Pour a small amount of paint into the ball, turn slightly, and add an additional color. Continue adding the paint and turning the ball until all the colors you desire to include are in the ornament.

4. Turn and twist the ball, adding additional paint if needed, until the ball is completely coated on the inside.

5. Invert the ball over a disposable cup and allow the paint to run out overnight.

6. Turn the ball with the hole facing up and allow it to dry for an additional 24 hours before replacing the hanging top.

7. Add stickers if desired to make it looks like stars in the sky.

Put the top on and string silver sparkly tinsel through the hole so you can hang it!
