Toy Story Mickey Ears Ornament: Woody
What you will need:
- Cardstock or Construction Paper (cardstock would be better because it is a heavier material). For Woody you need the following colors: yellow, red, white, blue, gold (or light brown), and brown
- Glue stick (like kids use in school)
- White school glue (like Elmer’s glue)
- Optional: paper plate or small tray, paintbrush
- Optional: Black marker or sharpie (for tracing)
- Scissors with sharp edges (so, adult scissors, not kid scissors)
- Glitter in the following colors: red, gold, and white (so, Woody colors!)
- String or Ribbon; preferably a basic color like black or white.
- Toy Story Ornament Craft Template (see below)
How to Make the Woody Ornament:
- Download and print out the Woody Mickey Head ornament template. Before you print, check out the instructions on the PDF download. If you choose, you can print each page of the template out on the corresponding color for each of the different parts of Woody’s outfit.
Alternative: You could also print out the PDF template on white paper. Then cut all the pieces out, trace them on the color paper needed, and then cut them out again. This method does involve more steps (and twice as much cutting), but if you can’t figure out how to print the template one page at a time on colored cardstock, this might be an easier option for you. (to be fair, that’s the option I choose. ha!)
2. Once you have cut out all the pieces set them aside.
Now let’s start assembling the Woody ornament! Since most of the Woody ornament pieces that have glitter are kind of small, I would suggest you apply glitter first before putting the pieces all together.
Glitter Adding Tips!
1. Add glitter! So, there are two options with the glitter. You could glitter your pieces before you glue them together or you could glitter your pieces after the cardstock elements are already glued together. Either way, you will want the glitter to dry completely before you move onto the next step.
2. Pro tip: You don’t want to use too much glue or the glitter will be clumpy. You also don’t want to use too little glue or the glitter will not stick to the cardstock evenly. Definitely use Elmer’s glue (or glue like that). Best crafting practice: squirt glue onto a plate or tray and then use a small paintbrush to paint the area you want to add glitter to… one color at a time.
3. Then, sprinkle the glitter onto the area, shake off the excess, and let it dry.
4. For Woody, you will want gold glitter for the belt buckle, sheriff badge, and Woody’s buttons. The white glitter will be for the black splotches on Woody’s shirt jacket. And the red glitter is for Woody’s handkerchief.
Once your glitter has dried completely, you can start assembling the pieces of this Woody ornament!
First, glue the blue jeans piece to the bottom of the large yellow circle. Next, glue the belt buckle to the belt. Then glue the entire belt to the ornament on top of the jeans.
After you glue the belt and pants on the ornament, glue the red handkerchief to the top of the ornament.
\The next pieces to glue on are Wood’s chaps and the Mickey ears. The chaps peices should be glued at the top of the ornament, on top of/overlapping the handkerchief.
For the Mickey ears, glue the two smaller yellow circles to the upper back of the ornament.
Finally, Woody needs his hat! Just set the hat on top of the ornament, between the two Mickey ears. Glue each side of the hat to each of the ears. If you want it to appear to be resting on the head, don’t glue the middle of the hat, only the sides (see below).
Flip over the ornament and add a bit of white school glue to the back. Loop a piece of string or ribbon and glue in place.
Toy Story Mickey Ears Ornament: Buzz Lightyear
What you will need:
- Cardstock or Construction Paper (cardstock would be better because it is a heavier material). For Buzz Lightyear you need the following colors: green, white, light blue, black, and purple
- Glitter in the following colors: Green, Blue, Gold, Purple, and Red
- String or Ribbon; preferably a basic color like black or white.
- Toy Story Ornament Craft Template (see below)
How to Make the Buzz Lightyear Ornament:
Download and print out the Buzz Lightyear Mickey Head ornament template. Before you print, check out the instructions on the PDF download. If you choose, you can print each page of the template out on the corresponding color for each of the different parts of Buzz’s outfit.
(to be fair, that’s the option I choose. ha!)
Once you have cut out all the pieces set them aside.
Now let’s start assembling the Buzz Lightyear ornament! We will start with Buzz’s wings.
For the wings, use the glue stick to glue the purple wing body to the white main wing. Line up the purple edges so that you leave a white edge rim. Then, glue the two green wing tips to the overall main wing.
Next you will want to apply red glitter to the wing before you move on. Apply glue to every other rhombus shape on the wing edges. Also, apply red glitter to the two triangles on the wing tips. Get rid of excess glitter and let the wings dry completely.
If you need more help with glitter pro-tips, see the section above (with the Woody ornament).
Buzz’s main body
While your Buzz Lightyear wings are drying, let’s put together the main ornament body. First glue the purple half circle to the top of the large white circle. Then glue the green main Buzz uniform on top of the purple part.
Next, let’s detail the Buzz uniform. Use glitter glue or glitter and a thin coat of Elmer’s glue to apply gold, blue, green, and red glitter as shown below. Do one color at a time and allow to dry completely before moving onto the next color.
After you finish the green Buzz uniform, glue the two thin purple strips to the front of the circle under the green uniform piece. Then, glue the black semi-circle to the bottom of the main ornament. Optional step: you can add purple glitter to the two purple strips.
Glue the two small green circles to the back of the main ornament to make the Mickey ears.
Then glue the blue badge to the front of the ornament as shown below.
Finally, glue Buzz Lightyear’s wings to the back of the main ornament. This will be a slightly heavy ornament so definitely use Elmer’s glue (as opposed to glue stick).
Flip over the ornament and add a bit of white school glue to the back. Loop a piece of string or ribbon and glue in place.
Toy Story Mickey Ears Ornament: Jessie
What you will need:
- Cardstock or Paper (cardstock would be better because it is a heavier material). For Jessie you will need yellow, red, white, blue, and gold.
- Glitter in the following colors: gold, red, and white
- Glitter pen in red
- Optional: White paint pen (for the rim of Jessie’s hat)
- String or Ribbon; preferably a basic color like black or white.
- Toy Story Ornament Craft Template (see below)
How to Make the Jessie Ornament:
- Download and print out the Jessie Mickey Head ornament template. Before you print, check out the instructions on the PDF download. If you choose, you can print each page of the template out on the corresponding color for each of the different parts of Jessie’s outfit.
2. Once you have cut out all the pieces set them aside.
Now let’s start assembling the Jessie ornament!
First, glue the gold half circle piece to the large white circle. Then, glue the yellow piece with the squigle lines to the top of the large white circle. Finally, glue the white collar piece on top of the yellow piece. See the photo below as a guide.
Next, add the blue piece of cardstock to the top of the gold piece. And then add the white and black chaps on top of the blue piece.
This would be a great time to apply glitter or glitter glue to whatever pieces you want to sparkle. See the glitter pro tip instructions in the Woody section for all the best glitter practices. Here are some specifics for Jessie.
For Jessie, you will want gold glitter for the belt buckle. The white glitter will be for the black splotches on Jessie’s shirt chaps. Use a red glitter pen to trace the detailing on Jessie’s shirt.
For Jessie’s hat, use a white paint pen (or white acrylic paint would also work) to outline the rim of Jessie’s hat white. Once the paint has dried, apply glue and sprinkle with white glitter for a lovely sparkle!
Set Jessie’s red hat on top of the ornament and glue the back of the hat to the back of the ornament, as shown below.
Then, glue the two small circles to the back of the ornament for Mickey’s ears.
Flip over the ornament and add a bit of white school glue to the back. Loop a piece of string or ribbon and glue in place.
Toy Story Mickey Ears Ornament: Aliens

- White school glue (like Elmer’s glue)
- Optional: paper plate or small tray, paintbrush
- Optional: Black marker or sharpie (for tracing)
- Scissors with sharp edges (so, adult scissors, not kid scissors)
- Glitter in the following colors: purple
- String or Ribbon; preferably a basic color like black or white.

2. Once you have cut out all the pieces set them aside.
Now let’s start assembling the alien ornament! First glue the blue half circle to the green face circle piece. Then glue the purple piece to the blue piece as shown below.
Next, glue the three eyes to the face of the alien above the mouth. And glue the alien antennae to the top back of the alien head.
Finally, glue the two small green circles to the back of the alien head for the Mickey ears.
Add glitter! Spread a thin coat of Elmer’s glue to the purple strip and then apply purple glitter. Shake off the excess and let the entire ornament dry.
