Disney World Shows Ranked (Every Show, Parade & Spectacular)

best shows at disney world ranked

When people talk about “things to do” at Walt Disney World, the conversation almost always defaults to rides. And sure, rides matter. But shows are doing a lot of heavy lifting across all four parks. And I would argue if you skip the shows at Disney World, you are totally missing a lot of the Disney magic.

Shows are where you sit down.
They’re where the parks slow down.
They’re where Disney flexes its storytelling, live performers, music, puppetry, projections, and nostalgia — sometimes all at once.

This post is different from the individual park show guides in this series. Instead of breaking things out by park, this is a single, consolidated ranking of every show, parade, and nighttime spectacular currently running at Disney World — ranked from “skip it unless you’re desperate” all the way up to the absolute best of the best.

A few things to know going in:

  • This list is completely subjective — based on repeat visits, crowd flow, emotional payoff, and whether I actively plan my day around seeing it. I know you will disagree with my rankings… but this is how I see my Disney experience. I would love to hear your rankings too!
  • Yes, parades and fireworks are included. It would be impossible to talk about Disney shows without them. I didn’t include special party fireworks and parades since you have to have a special ticket to see those.
  • EPCOT festival concerts are grouped together (Eat to the Beat, Disney on Broadway, etc.), but the Candlelight Processional is in its own category because it’s a different level of experience entirely.

Let’s start at the bottom and work our way up.

Tier Four

I don’t hate these — I just won’t carve time out for them unless there’s nothing else happening.

I just want to be clear.. unlike with the ride ranking list (where I actively hate a few rides at Disney World), I don’t hate any of the shows at Disney World. These shows are in Tier Four because they are.. meh at best for me. They are fine really. There are just so many other things that are more fun to do at Epcot… unless there are torrential downpours. Then all bets are off!

#46 – Awesome Planet

It’s fine. Informative. Well-produced. And also something I almost never choose when EPCOT offers food booths, festivals, and better shows five minutes away.

I respect it. I really do. But at this point, this is more historical artifact than must-see entertainment unless you need air-conditioning and a long sit.

#44 – Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival

Some shorts are great. Others are… fine. It’s a decent filler, but not something I plan for. I still like it way more than the Journey Into Imagination ride at this pavilion though. So, if it’s about to rain and you need to pick one or the other so you are inside when the thunderstorm rolls through? I would go with this show in a heartbeat.

#43 – Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along

Cute idea, but it doesn’t add enough beyond the original film to make it feel essential. I know a lot of people think this show is downright horrible and cheesy. It is kind of cheesy.. but you still get to sing the Beauty and the Beast songs so it’s not a complete wash.

As with the Pixar Film Festival, I would probably only go to this show if there is a threat of imminent torrential downpours. If I needed to kill time in the France pavilion otherwise, I would shop.. or get a snack from Les Halles Boulangerie.

#42 – Reflections of China

Beautiful visuals, but it’s very much a “walk in if you’re already there” experience. Honestly, I feel the same for Reflections of China as I do for Canada Far and Wide. The fatal flaw is that there are no seats. Honestly, that’s a cruel tease. Why would I want to ‘take a break’ to watch a show only to have to stand on my aching feet? Nope. Hard pass. But if Epcot ever installed seats? I would probably watch this show most visits to Epcot.

#41 – Canada Far and Wide

Same story here — well-done, but rarely a priority. And that standing. I put Canada Far and Wide ahead of Reflections of China mostly because I think Canada is just so incredibly beautiful and I will never not want to see a movie about the Canadian Rockies. But yeah, I will probably not make time to see this show unless I want to escape the rain.

#40 — Walt Disney Presents

Walt Disney Presents is less of a traditional show and more of a walk-through history experience, but the film at the end absolutely counts here. It’s thoughtful, nostalgic, and one of the best places in the parks to understand Walt Disney the person, not just the brand. I don’t always make time for it, but when I do, I’m always glad I went.

#39 – Mickey’s Friendship Faire

High energy and colorful, but the castle hub is often too crowded for this to feel relaxing or special. Honestly, I don’t hate this show at all. But it’s also kind of missable. If it’s time for lunch or a snack and I can watch it while eating a chili dog from Casey’s Corner or an ice cream sundae from the Plaza… then awesome. Otherwise, I would likely just watch it as we are walking to Adventureland or Fantasyland.

#38 — Disney Movie Magic

Disney Movie Magic is a surprisingly emotional nighttime projection show that plays on the Chinese Theatre, and it hits hardest if you’re a longtime Disney movie fan. It’s short, beautifully edited, and works best as a “pause and watch” moment rather than something you plan your whole evening around — but when you catch it at the right time, it really lands.

The only reason it is this low on the list is because typically, I skip this so I can ride one more ride before seeing Fantasmic.

Tier Three

Perfectly fine. I enjoy them when it works out — I just don’t rearrange my day for them.

I really do like all the shows in this tier a lot. I just don’t always make time for them because there is so much to do at Disney World. Or, they are sporadic enough that it’s hard to catch them. Still, I would never be upset to catch any of these shows!

#37 – Impressions de France

Classic EPCOT. Gorgeous. And still something I skip more often than not. Why do I skip it? Well, it doesn’t play very often. This show shares the theatre with the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along so you need to check the My Disney Experience App for when it’s playing and be very intentional about when you show up in the France Pavilion.

#36 – American Adventure

Impressive technically, but long — and not always the best use of time unless you love U.S. history. Well, and I love U.S. History… and I have a soft spot for anything patriotic. So, I really do like this show a lot. But I don’t always make time for it.. precisely because it’s so long.

Related: Best Rides at Animal Kingdom

#35 – Feathered Friends in Flight

I really do love Feathered Friend In Flight too. I just don’t love it as much as some of the other rides, shows, and attractions at Animal Kingdom. And there are not a ton of shows throughout the day (I mean, I am sure the birds get tired!). So, if I can fit it in, I definitely try and see this show. Otherwise, I don’t feel slighted if I have to miss it.

#34 – Sergio

He’s talented, no question — I just don’t usually stop unless I’m already nearby. Correction, I always try and time it so I can see Sergio, but then something else gets in the way (snacking around the world, Disney photopass magic shots, shopping the festivals) and I catch the very end of the Sergio show. Still, if I time it right I will always stop and enjoy this funny mime!

#33 – First Order

Cool atmosphere moment, but fleeting and easy to miss. The First Order show in Hollywood Studios is similar to Sergio.. sometimes its hard to time it right to catch the show in an otherwise crowded Hollywood Studios park day. I have to say though– when the stormtroopers targeted my daughter a few years ago.. major core memory for me!

#32 – Bands in Pavilions

I lumped these together because they all have a similar vibe. There is Command Performance in the back of the UK Pavilion, Atlas Fusion at the Moroccan Pavilion, and the bands at the Canada and Germany pavilions. Out of all of these, I would definitely carve out time for Command Performance. This cover band is just super fun, and the area has plenty of shaded seating… so that’s a win.

I have seen the belly dancer at Atlas Fusion and that show is good too. However, I typically miss both the Canadian and German bands.. and I don’t feel like my life is lesser for that.

Related: Via Napoli is a great Epcot restaurant to pick for Concert Series Dining Packages

#31 – ¡Celebración Encanto!

If you have kids and/or you love Encanto, this is an easy win. This show plays at the stage next to Communicore Hall in Epcot and it’s just really fun. Plus, you are encouraged to dance to the music.

Related: If you love Beauty and the Beast, you have to dine at Be Our Guest

#30 – Enchanted Tales With Belle

I wasn’t sure whether or not to include this on the shows list. It’s definitely not a ride.. but it’s almost not a show either. It’s like an enhanced character interaction with show elements. But either way, it’s such an adorable experience with a lot of audience participation. I don’t need to do this attraction every time I visit Magic Kingdom, but I definitely try and work it in when I can.

Related: Check out all the shows and attractions at Epcot

#29 – Turtle Talk With Crush

This is another completely cute and adorable show that would be a ‘must-do’ if traveling with younger kids. Talk about Disney magic? Crush actually interacts with the kids in the audience.. and he can be downright funny!

#28 – Little Mermaid- A Musical Adventure

I think the newly reimagined Little Mermaid show at Hollywood Studios is really fun and cute. I love the new Ursula animatronics, as well as how the show combines live actors with fantastic puppetry. This is really just a lovely feel-good show.

#27 – Monsters Inc Laugh Floor

Speaking of feel good shows, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor is one of a few Dad-joke attractions at Disney World, and I love it. This is also one of the attractions where more people might be better.. since Mike and gang pick on the audience and they also use jokes submitted by audience members.

Tier Two

Excellent shows — just not quite elite status.

Well, elite status is in the eye/ear of the beholder. I really LOVE all of these shows. I try to see them every visit but sometimes logistics don’t work out.. and that’s ok. But all of the shows in Tier Two are just wonderful.

#26 – Tree of Life Awakenings

The downside to the Tree of Life Awakenings (and why it isn’t higher on the list), is that you really can only see it if you visit Animal Kingdom during the winter months. This is a bummer because the show is really fantastic. But it does require darkness.. and Animal Kingdom typically closes around 6pm.

So, unless you are outside of Daylight Savings Time, the show just doesn’t play. That being said, if you are visiting in the winter, this show is a MUST do.

#25 – Luminous Symphony of Us

I do really love the Epcot fireworks show. The problem is, I often love getting back to the resort more… or riding Soarin with no wait. That being said, it’s a gorgeous fireworks show. My favorite way to catch it is to watch it while eating! Great restaurants with fireworks dining packages or just great fireworks views include Spice Road Table, Shiki-Sai, and La Hacienda de San Angel.

#24 – Zootopia: Better Zoogether

So, I really did think A Bugs Life was super cute. But I also think the new show in the Tree of Life- Zootopia: Better Zoogether!- is a big improvement. This is really a fun, high energy show that I know I will make time for anytime I visit Animal Kingdom. It’s great that Zootopia has some attraction love, finally!

#23 – Viva Gaia Street Band

This streetmosphere entertainment at Animal Kingdom is just so fun! The Viva Gaia Street Band typically performs outside of Flame Tree BBQ and the songs and dancing is audience participation heavy and such a joy. I wouldn’t plan my day around hearing them, but will absolutely stop if they are playing.

Related: Garden Grill is a fantastic character dining experience at Epcot

#22 — Matsuriza

Matsuriza is one of those EPCOT shows that stops you in your tracks whether you planned to see it or not. The taiko drumming is loud, powerful, and genuinely impressive, and the performers bring a level of energy that cuts straight through a busy World Showcase afternoon. It’s not a must-plan show, but if you hear the drums starting, it’s absolutely worth pausing to watch.

#21 – JAMMitors

I wasn’t sure whether to rate this higher or lower than Matsuriza. They are essentially tied in my opinion. Which is funny because they are both high energy drumming acts at Epcot. I think I rate JAMMitors a nudge higher only because you can get really close to the performers, which adds an element of fun.

Related: The Biergarten Restaurant at the Germany pavilion is an amazing meal with a German band!

#20 – Mariachi Cobre

Mariachi Cobre (and the other mariachi like acts that perform at the Mexico pavilion) has a special place in my heart because they serenaded me on my 50th birthday celebration trip. Also, I am a violinist, so I appreciate their musicianship.

Really, this is just a high quality music group and I would absolutely check the My Disney Experience app for performance times.. and then plan to be at the Mexico Pavilion when they are playing.

Related: Space220 is such an immersive experience and great food!

#19 – Festival Concerts at Epcot

Eat to the Beat, Garden Rocks, and Disney on Broadway can be incredible — just not guaranteed must-dos. Honestly, it depends on who is playing. Some of the performance acts are fantastic throwbacks from the 80’s and 90’s. You will know how popular they are based on how far the standby line wraps around World Showcase.

Disney on Broadway is a class all to its own. Honestly, if you are visiting Epcot during the Festival of the Arts, I think Disney on Broadway is a must do for your park day.

For any of the concerts though, I would highly recommend booking a dining package so you can get guaranteed preferred seating. I mean, you have to eat at Epcot anyway, right?

Related: Check out Le Cellier for amazing steak!

#18 – Country Bear Jamboree

Corny, classic, and weirdly charming. I enjoy it more than I expect to. This is also a newly reimagined show and the updates turn a slightly cringe Hee-Haw style show into a slight cheesy but totally fun and cute Hee-Haw style show.. but with Disney tunes.

Related: Liberty Tree Tavern is an awesome table service restaurant at Magic Kingdom

#17 – Hall of Presidents

I know most people will disagree with my love for Hall of Presidents. I make no apologies. I really do LOVE this show. I mean, it hits all the patriotic feels and I just always walk away misty eyed that, despite our difference, the United States continues to pull off this ‘more perfect union’ thing.

Related: Hollywood and Vine is a fun place to dine with Minnie and friends

#16 – Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

This show is just really thrilling. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. Although, I prefer to sit on the left side of the theater. Everything from the giant boulder to the airplane exploding at the end (yes, it really does that), makes this show a very welcome break from all the rides at Hollywood Studios.

Related: Tusker House is a great character dining meal in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom

#15 – Harambe Dancers

Every version of the Harambe Dancers (or drummers.. or acrobats) is awesome. They are high energy, full of joy and passion.. and you will definitely leave a little happier after having watched them perform. So, grab some dole whip from Tamu Tamu refreshments and stick around.

Related: Roundup Rodeo is a super fun dining experience inside Toy Story Land

#14 – Green Army Men

Another streetmosphere performing group that is pure joy. The Green Army Men at Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios are absolutely worth making time for. There are plenty of showtimes throughout the day, so you can easily carve out time in between totchos at Woody’s Lunchbox and getting the high score at Toy Story Mania!

Related: Dine at 50’s Primetime Cafe for the ultimate comfort food

#13 – Beauty and the Beast Live On Stage

I think this is the perfect mid-morning show at Hollywood Studios. We typically see it after the early entry/rope drop mania has subsided. You know, get scared to death at Tower of Terror, grab a coffee and doughnut at Joffrey’s, and then saunter over to the theatre for a completely delightful show!

And this show delivers. It’s gorgeous, the dancing and singing are Broadway quality, and it just sets the mood for a fun and happy Hollywood Studios day!

Related: Yak & Yeti is an excellent meal at Animal Kingdom

#12 – Finding Nemo The Big Blue and Beyond

This is one of the best stage shows at Disney World.. hands down. The puppets and set are visually stunning. And the singing and choreography are gorgeous. But at it’s heart, Finding Nemo tells the very emotional story of how Nemo is lost and then found. And this show will absolutely pull at your heart strings.

Tier One

The best shows at Disney World — the ones I actively plan around.

Again, I know this is purely subjective.. and my opinion. But these are the shows that are ‘must see’ at Disney World. And if I miss them, my trip will not feel complete.

#11 – Enchanted Tiki Room

You might be scratching your head as to why a show with animatronic singing birds and flowers is so high up on my list. Well, then you must not have ever seen this super funny show. I mean, yeah.. it’s totally corny. But I gobble it up. And the Tiki Room song is not the worst ear-worm to have stuck in your head all day.

#10 – Happily Ever After

The Magic Kingdom fireworks show is such a classic experience. First of all, the fireworks themselves are mind-blowing. But when you add the projections on the castle and then soundtrack. Just. Wow.

The bad news– it can get VERY crowded in front of Cinderella’s castle and down main street. The good news? If the projections don’t mean that much to you, you can still enjoy the music and fireworks throughout the park! We have enjoyed the fireworks from Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, while riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, or even from one of the monorail resorts!

#9 – Frozen Sing-Along

I just totally adore this show. I mean, did you even visit Hollywood Studios if you didn’t belt out ‘Let It Go’ while covered in snoap? But for real, the sing-along aspect of this Frozen show is fun, but the Arendelle historians are incredibly hilarious. And lest you think this is a kiddie show, the historian humor is definitely more geared towards adults. It’s really clever, cute, and a fun show.

#8 – Mickey’s PhilharMagic

Speaking of shows I adore, this 4-D movie is really classic Disney magic. You follow Donald Duck around various Disney animated classics as he tries to recover Mickey Mouse’s magic conductor’s baton. Of course, with Donald Duck everything goes horribly wrong.. and it’s hilarious and endearing.

#7 – Voices of Liberty

Every time I sit on a bench inside the America Pavilion Rotunda to hear this acapella singing group, I get chills down my spine and tears in my eyes. Yes, I am being overly dramatic. But also yes.. it’s totally warranted. Voices of Liberty is soooo good. They regularly change their repertoire so every concert is different. But this is a must do at Epcot and I would choose to listen to them sing over going on many of the rides.

Related: Le Creperie is a nice low-key table service restaurant in Epcot

#6 – Candlelight Processional

I struggled with how to rank the Candlelight Processional. This is the Festival of the Holidays concert offering. But it is absolutely a cut above the other festival concert series. There is a full orchestra, Voices of Liberty, a large student choir, and a celebrity narrator. They perform all the Christmas chorales that highlight the ‘reason for the season,’ and the performances are always so joyous and inspirational.

For this concert series, I think a dining package is a must do. You definitely don’t want to miss this concert if you are at Epcot in December.

#5 – Starlight Parade

This is the new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom that more or less replaced the Main Street Electric Parade. It’s visually stunning. And there really isn’t a bad seat or viewing area along the parade route. Unlike some of the other parades, the lights are turned off because the entire point of the parade is the lighted parade vehicles.

This parade is absolutely worth sticking around Magic Kingdom at night. And I do really like it more than Happily Ever After fireworks.

#4 – Villains Unfairly Ever After

This is one of the newest shows at Disney World and Hollywood Studios and it is stellar. Wow. Such a visually stunning and well-produced stage show. Basically, the villains are all competing to see who is treated the most unfairly. This is a mix of live actor performers and animated/screen recordings.

Once it debuted, this show easily became an absolute must-do for me any day I go to Holllywood Studios.

#3 – Festival of Fantasy Parade

If I were to point to one reason why Disney will always outshine other amusement parks, the Festival of Fantasy parade is a great example. This parade is such a high quality production. The floats are incredible, you get to see all of your favorite Disney characters, and there isn’t really a bad place to see the parade.

#2 – Festival of the Lion King

The Festival of the Lion King is absolutely the best stage show at Disney World. Full stop. It is a mix of a high quality Broadway production with a cirque du soleil show. There are fire eaters, acrobatics, aerial acrobatics, and more!

You really can’t visit Animal Kingdom without seeing this show. It’s absolutely a must do!

#1 – Fantasmic

Fantasmic is still the gold standard for Disney World shows, and honestly, nothing else quite does what it does. It blends live performers, characters, water screens, fire effects, projections, music, and storytelling into one big emotional finale that actually feels earned.

I actively plan my Hollywood Studios evenings around Fantasmic, and even after seeing it multiple times, it still feels special — which is really the highest compliment you can give a Disney show.

Final Thoughts

Shows don’t just fill time between rides — they shape how the parks feel. They give your feet a break, your brain a reset, and often deliver the most emotional moments of the day.

This list will evolve. New shows will open. Others will quietly disappear. But for now, this ranking reflects what I genuinely prioritize — not what I think I should like.

And yes… next time you’re planning your day, maybe leave a little more room for shows.
