Rose & Crown Dining Room Review: Fish & Chips, Atmosphere & Tips

Wondering if Rose & Crown Dining Room is worth it? Read my honest EPCOT review, including fish and chips, atmosphere, prices, and dining tips.
Estimated reading time: 9 minutes
I’ll admit it…Rose & Crown was never very high on my EPCOT dining list.
Not because I’d heard anything bad about it. It was more that every trip there always seemed to be another restaurant I wanted to try first. Le Cellier. Via Napoli. San Angel Inn. You know how it goes.
But after finally eating here, I can definitely see why it has such a loyal following.
Now, if you love fish and chips, this review is going to be really easy.
Go.
Seriously.
The fish and chips here are excellent.
In fact, they’re basically the exact same fish and chips you’ll get next door at Yorkshire County Fish Shop. The big difference is that here you’re sitting in a cozy British pub with air conditioning instead of trying to find a shady table outside when it’s 95 degrees. Personally, I’ll take the air conditioning every single time.
Rose & Crown isn’t my favorite table service restaurant in EPCOT, but I enjoyed our meal, I’d happily come back, and next time I’d probably branch out and try the Cottage Pie instead of ordering the fish and chips again.

The Menu & What We Ordered
One thing you’ll notice pretty quickly is that Rose & Crown doesn’t have a huge menu.
Honestly, I kind of like that.
I’d rather have a handful of dishes that the kitchen does really well than three pages of options that are all just okay. The menu is very British pub-inspired, with things like fish and chips, bangers and mash, cottage pie, and a vegetable tikka masala if you’re looking for a plant-based option.
If you’re traveling with someone who’s a really picky eater, this might not be the easiest restaurant to please everyone. But if you enjoy traditional comfort food, there are enough choices that you’ll probably find something you’ll like.
Fish and Chips

Since it was our first visit, ordering the fish and chips felt like the obvious choice.
And yes…they really are that good.
The portions were generous, with two huge pieces of fish that were much larger than I expected. The batter was light and crispy without feeling greasy, while the fish inside was flaky, moist, and actually tasted like fresh fish—not one of those frozen fish sticks pretending to be fish and chips.
The fries were thick-cut and perfectly suited for dipping in the homemade tartar sauce.
Now, if you’ve already had the fish and chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop right outside, don’t expect a completely different meal. They’re essentially the same fish and chips. The difference is really the experience. Here you’re sitting down, someone brings your food to the table, you’ve got air conditioning, and you’re not trying to keep seagulls away from your lunch.
Personally…I’ll pay a little extra for that.
Sticky Toffee Pudding

Dessert was the Sticky Toffee Pudding.
If you’ve read many of my Disney dining reviews, you already know I have an unhealthy appreciation for bread puddings.
So naturally, I have rankings.
This one was excellent. It was warm, rich, buttery, and covered in a delicious toffee sauce without being overwhelmingly sweet.
That said…I still think Liberty Tree Tavern has my favorite bread pudding on Disney property.
If I were ranking the ones I’ve tried so far, it’d probably go:
- Liberty Tree Tavern Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake
- Rose & Crown Sticky Toffee Pudding
- Germany Pavilion Pretzel Bread Pudding
Second place at Disney is still a pretty good place to be.
Service & Dining Experience

Service during our meal was exactly what I hope for at a Disney table service restaurant.
Friendly.
Efficient.
Not rushed.
Our server was attentive without constantly interrupting the meal, and everything arrived at a comfortable pace.
One unexpected bonus was the live piano player performing during lunch.

I wasn’t expecting live entertainment, but it added so much character to the restaurant. The music stayed in the background—it never felt loud or distracting—but it made the whole meal feel just a little more special than simply sitting down for lunch.
Sometimes it’s those little details that make Disney restaurants memorable.
Is Rose & Crown Worth the Price?
For me, this falls squarely into the “fair value” category.
You’re definitely paying Disney prices, but the portions are generous, the food is well prepared, and the overall experience is enjoyable.
If your only goal is to eat the famous fish and chips, Yorkshire County Fish Shop is the better value. You’ll save some money, and the food is essentially the same.
But if you’re looking for a break from the crowds, want to sit inside, enjoy some live music, and actually relax for an hour, I think the extra cost of Rose & Crown is justified.
Sometimes you’re paying for more than just the food.

Reservations & Tips
Rose & Crown is one of those restaurants that tends to fly a little under the radar compared to places like Le Cellier or Space 220.
That means reservations are usually easier to find, although I’d still recommend booking ahead if you know you want to eat here.
One tip from our experience…
If you’re dining during the hotter months of the year and you don’t specifically want a lagoon view, don’t be afraid to ask for an indoor table if one is available.
We were originally headed toward the patio, but after asking, they were happy to seat us inside instead. Considering it was the middle of a Florida summer, that made the meal a whole lot more enjoyable.
I know some people absolutely love sitting outside to watch the fireworks, and if you’re doing one of the fireworks dining packages, that obviously makes sense. But for a regular lunch? Give me air conditioning every time.

Final Thoughts: Would I Eat Here Again?
Yes, I would.
Would it be my very first reservation at EPCOT?
Probably not.
But that’s less about Rose & Crown and more about how ridiculously competitive EPCOT’s restaurant lineup is.
The food was good, the atmosphere was relaxing, the live piano music was a nice surprise, and it’s one of those restaurants where you can actually catch your breath for a little while before heading back out into World Showcase.
Next time, I’d probably skip the fish and chips—not because they weren’t excellent, but simply because I’ve already had them. I’d be curious to try the Cottage Pie or Bangers and Mash just to see how they compare.
If you’re craving classic British comfort food or you’re simply looking for a comfortable place to escape the Florida heat for an hour, I don’t think you’ll leave disappointed.
