Les Halles Boulangerie Review: My Favorite Quick Service Restaurant at EPCOT

Les Halles Boulangerie Review

Thinking about eating at Les Halles Boulangerie in EPCOT? Here’s my honest review, what to order, tips for avoiding the long lines, and whether it’s worth your time.

If you’ve read many of my Disney food posts, this ranking probably won’t surprise you.

Les Halles Boulangerie is my favorite quick service restaurant in EPCOT.

Not my favorite bakery.

Not my favorite dessert stop.

My favorite quick service restaurant.

That’s saying a lot considering how many great places there are to eat in EPCOT.

The funny thing is…I don’t even go here for one specific thing.

I go because everything is good.

I’ve eaten breakfast here. I’ve grabbed lunch here. I’ve stopped in for dessert. I’ve picked up snacks. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever walked out thinking, “Well…that wasn’t worth it.”

That’s pretty rare.

Best EPCOT Quick Service Restaurants

Why I Love Les Halles

If you’ve never been here before, don’t make the mistake of thinking this is just somewhere to grab a pastry.

Sure, the pastries are incredible.

But they also have sandwiches, soups, quiche, salads, baguettes, tarts…it’s a legitimate quick service restaurant.

In fact, if someone asked me where they should grab lunch in EPCOT, this would probably be my first answer.

One of my favorite things to order is also one of the simplest.

A warm half baguette with butter.

I know.

It sounds ridiculous.

Bread.

Butter.

That’s it.

But somehow it’s absolutely delicious. Good bread doesn’t need a lot of help, and this is really good bread.

I’ve also had their ham and cheese tart several times, and it’s excellent. The sandwiches are great too. And then, of course, there’s the dessert case.

Which is dangerous.

You walk in planning to grab lunch, and suddenly you’re standing there trying to convince yourself that you definitely have room for a raspberry macaron.

Spoiler alert…

I usually find room.

If you’re stopping by for dessert instead of lunch, don’t miss my guide to the best snacks at EPCOT. Several of my favorite sweet treats in the park can be found right here at Les Halles.

The One Thing That Drives Me Crazy

As much as I love Les Halles, there are two things you should know before you decide to eat here.

First…

There is no Mobile Order.

That means everyone waits in the same line.

Sometimes that line moves quickly.

Sometimes…not so much.

The second issue is seating.

Or, more accurately…

The lack of seating.

I honestly wish Disney would shrink the gift shop a little bit and use that space for more tables because finding somewhere to sit can be harder than deciding what to order.

I’ve literally found myself doing that awkward thing where you’re kind of circling the dining room like a car in a crowded mall parking lot, waiting for somebody to finish eating so you can swoop in and grab their table.

If you do find one, though, it’s worth it.

The dining room is air conditioned, the restrooms are right inside the dining area, and after walking around World Showcase in the Florida heat, it feels really nice to actually sit down for a while instead of balancing your lunch on a trash can.

Is Les Halles Worth It?

Absolutely.

In fact, I’d go a step farther than that.

If you’re only going to eat at one quick service restaurant during your entire EPCOT day, this is the one I’d recommend.

The food is consistently excellent, there are options for just about everyone, and it works at almost any time of day. Whether you’re looking for breakfast before rope drop, a quick lunch while you’re making your way around World Showcase, or a pastry to finish off the afternoon, Les Halles delivers.

That’s probably why I keep coming back every trip.

My Favorite Things to Order

I’ve tried quite a few things here over the years, but these are the items I would order again without even looking at the menu.

  • Warm half baguette with butter
  • Ham and cheese tart
  • Fresh sandwiches
  • Raspberry macaron
  • Honestly…whatever pastry looks the best that day.

One thing I really like about Les Halles is that it doesn’t feel like typical theme park food.

It feels like you wandered into a neighborhood bakery while you were walking around France.

That’s part of the charm.

Tips for Eating at Les Halles

A few things I’ve learned after eating here multiple times…

Go a little earlier or later than the lunch rush if you can.

The line gets long because this place is popular. If you can avoid that noon to one o’clock rush, you’ll have a much better experience.

Don’t panic if the line looks intimidating.

I’ve had times where I almost walked away because the line looked ridiculous…and then it moved surprisingly fast.

Have someone scout for a table.

Seriously.

If you’re traveling with family or friends, have one person look for seating while another orders. It’s so much easier than trying to carry trays around while you’re hunting for an empty table.

Don’t skip the bakery case.

Even if you came here planning to order lunch, at least take a look.

You may suddenly decide you need dessert too.

It happens.

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of great places to eat in EPCOT.

Regal Eagle has fantastic barbecue.

Sunshine Seasons is one of the most underrated restaurants in the park.

La Cantina de San Angel has beautiful waterfront seating.

But if somebody stopped me on the walkway and asked, “If I only have time for one quick service meal, where should I eat?”…

I’m sending them to Les Halles.

Just be prepared to wait in line for a little while and possibly stalk a table like you’re waiting for someone to back out of a parking space at Costco on a Saturday.

Trust me.

Once you take that first bite, you’ll understand why.
