Kent County
Rock Hall Community Playground

The Rock Hall Community Playground is easily one of the best playgrounds in Maryland, and your kids will love exploring it! This is a new/newly renovated playground that has loads of fantastic play features for both younger and older kids. There are tons of climbing features, ride-on’s (including that really cool digger play structure!), swings, and slides.
You can use the public restrooms in the Civic Center.

Wilmer Park

A great little park on the Chester River in Chestertown. There is a short waterfront trail, lots of green space to run around, and picnic tables.
There are port-a-potties.

Betterton Community Park

I had no idea this lovely playground existed but it does exist and it’s lovely. Stop here after your day trip to Betterton Beach to extend your fun! The playground is great and there is a small nature play area too! There are play areas for younger and older kids, swings, a sprayground feature, and more!
There are public restrooms.

Ocean City and Worcester County
Northside Park

The park is gorgeous and right on the ocean (like everything else in Ocean City). There is a decent sized playground for kids, a picnic area, and a fishing pier that is great for fishing, but also has the best scenic views. This is also a fantastic place to go fly your kite!

Gorman Avenue Park

Gorman Avenue Park is a versatile neighborhood spot with something for everyone. Kids can enjoy the playground with slides, swings, monkey bars, and a climbing wall, while adults take advantage of the hard court tennis court or three-wall racquetball court.
There’s also a picnic pavilion with a grill, a bike rack, and both shaded and sunny areas for relaxing.

Stephen Decatur Park

This a great playground with approximately a dozen pieces for use by the over 5 age group and a tot-lot for the 2-5 age group.
This is a sprawling playground with plenty of shade.
There are plans for a restroom to be built but it’s unclear when they will be built. If they aren’t built yet, there are port-a-potties.
This is honestly a great addition to any day trip to Berlin, MD.

Byrd Park

This is a lovely riverfront park where you can launch a boat or kayak, have a picnic, or play on their playground!
The playground is rather large and has separate play areas for younger and older kids plus swings.
There are public restrooms.

John Walter Smith Playground

This is a great, partially shaded playground next to the ball fields at the Worcester County Rec Center.
There are fun climbing features for older kids, a separate tot lot area, and swings for older kids and baby swings. A great option– especially since it’s partially shaded!
There are port-a-potties, but restrooms are to be built.

Cypress Park

From the DelMarVA Discovery Center museum you can see the Cypress Park playground. You can either walk or drive there. This is a cute playground with swings, play areas for younger and older kids, and some cute ride ons. It’s fenced in but not shady… and there are port-a-potties and picnic tables.

Manklin Meadows

A great park and playground within the Ocean Pines community.
The playground is huge and has swings for babies, older kids, and kids with mobility issues.
There are loads of climbing structures, slides, young kid friendly features, and a gazebo in the middle of the play area.
There are public restrooms.

White Horse Park

This is really such a fantstic playground and park!
This is a sprawling playground that has public restroom facilities, play areas for older and younger kids, as well as fully accessible play features. There are loads of swings, a zipline, and plenty of shaded picnic areas.

Centreville Wharf

The playground at this park is so much fun! There are separate play areas for younger kids and older kids. The playground has a nautical and aquatic theme with a pretty detailed ship play structure, a crab to climb on, and more! There are also swings.
There are public restrooms.

Old Love Point Park

This 30.5-acres park encompasses numerous athletic fields, tennis courts, concession stands and lighted basketball courts. It also features the Children’s Memorial Playground, dedicated to the memory of children from Queen Anne’s County who prematurely lost their lives.
The playground has two major components, one for the toddler age child and one for the older child. Portable toilets are provided year round. The Cross Island Trail passes through the park with free parking for access to the trail available at this location.
There are public restrooms but if they aren’t open there are port-a-potties.

Mowbray Park

Mowbray Park is a 20+ acre park in Stevensville that has ball fields, tennis courts, a picnic area, a concession stand (cool!), and a great playground!
The play area for older kids has sensory walls, climbing features, slides, swings, and more. There are also 2 ADA compliant swings. The young kid play area has lots of fun play features for toddlers and preschoolers… and it’s own swings.
There are public restrooms but if they are closed there are port-a-potties.

Rt. 18 Park

There is a new playground at Route 18 Park in Centreville, MD. The playground is for ages 2-5 and also has swings. The playground is low to the ground and has multiple small slides, small climbing structures and a wheel for pretend play. There are 2 baby swings and 2 regular swings and multiple large multipurpose fields to run around. The park itself is wonderful and has a great paved 1.5 mile trail. This park is beautiful and well maintained and the playground is a great addition/update to the Centreville community!

Queenstown Community Park

We love this cute small town on the shore! The town is full of history — did you know Queenstown was the home of the first County seat in 1707 and in 1708 the original Courthouse was built? It was also the only town in Queen Anne’s County to be attacked by the British during the War of 1812.
You can take a walk around town and learn more about its history or take a tour of the Courthouse — open the first Saturday of every month from May to October. Queenstown also has a great community playground. There are slides, climbing structures and swings.
Next to the playground is a large open field and picnic benches. This would be a great spot to stop (if coming back from the beach) or if you reside on the shore and want to explore a playground in a community full of history. There is also a great pizza shop in town (next to post office) to grab a bite. The pizza and Philly cheesesteaks are amazing!

idlewild Park

The Idlewild Playground in Easton is soooooo much fun! The playground has full sections for younger and older kids. Loads of imaginative play features, swings, music features, slides, climbing, obstacles, and tons of nooks and crannies to explore.
There are public restrooms and plenty of parking. .. and it’s free!
The park has a nice bike/walking path and a very colorful basketball court!

Perry Cabin Park and Sports Complex

This playground has two separate play areas– one for ages 2-5 and one for 5-12. The tot lot area is very small and the older kid playground has numerous slides, climbging structures, and a rock wall.

Cordova Community Park

This playground is very nice, especially for a pit stop on an Eastern Shore day trip.. or going to/from Ocean City and the Eastern Shore.
There is a paved walking trail, exercise stations, a shaded picnic area, ball courts.. and of course, the playground.
The playground has areas that would appeal to younger and older kids with climbing structures, slides, and swings.. including 2 ADA accessible swings.

Sailwinds Park

Sailwinds Park is the absolute perfect place to stop for a break on your way to Ocean City…. And it’s a great destination to visit on any Eastern Shore road trip! The playground has a really fun theme.. with a lighthouse tower, and great play features for both older and younger kids.

🌊 The park is on the water and there is a small beach where your kids can play in the sand, plus a nice walking path.
There are restrooms inside the visitor center when it’s open.

Moton Park

This is a nice 12-acre park in Easton, located right off of Rte 322. There are 2 playground structures (2-5 year old and 5-12 year old), a basketball court, shaded pavilion picnic area, open green space, swing area with a see saw and merry go round, sand volleyball court and a .5 mile paved trail that borders the park.
The 2-5 year old playground is fantastic. There is a climbing tunnel, riders, age appropriate climbing structures and slides, and activity panels.
The 5-12 playground has slides, multiple climbing structure, spinners, and musical instruments. There are also two bench swings overlooking the playground.
There are public restrooms and if they building is closed, there are port-a-potties.

Ben’s Red Swings

A nice community playground that is very close to the Salisbury Zoo. There are slides, swings, and loads of fun play structures and features. The playground is located near walking paths as well.
