The playground at Idlewild Park is a massive wooden playground. But don’t think about something dated and dreary. Nope. This playground is well maintained and very colorful and bright. This a community built playground and you can tell in all the unique details and flourishes. This playground was built with love!

The main playground is set up as a cityscape with different shops and community buildings kids can explore and use their imagination to dream up grand adventures.

There are separate play areas for younger and older kids. The tot lot area is so playful! It has a train, a one room schoolhouse, and more.

There are toddler-sized slides and climbing structures. And the playground is on rubberized turf so it’s great for falls and potential skinned knees.

The playground is fantastic but the Idlewild Park has other great features too. This is a 15-acre park with a walking track, picnic pavilions, a gazebo, and loads of green space for kids to run around.

There are also some great athletic fields and facilities. I love this brightly painted basketball court. There are tennis courts and baseball/softball fields.

Another great thing about Idlewild Park is that there is plenty of parking, a water fountain, and public restrooms. Note: When we visited the restrooms weren’t the cleanest, but they were better than port-a-potties.
