How To Avoid These 5 Disney World Disasters
Disney World is the happiest place on earth, but that doesn’t mean nothing ever goes wrong. Here is how to avoid these 5 common Disney World disasters!
While Disney World is the happiest place on earth, that doesn’t mean that your trip will be free from complications. There are many things that can go wrong at Disney and things don’t always go as you planned. Here is how to avoid these five Disney World disasters so that you can save your vacation!
Disney World Disaster 1: You’ve failed to book a dining reservation in advance, and now you can’t find somewhere to eat
A last-minute trip to Disney might sound like fun, but not having a booked dining reservation is going to really limit your dining options. If you find yourself walking into the parks with no dining reservations at all, there are still some options available. First, you can scroll through the My Disney Experience app and see what dining options are available.
If you are flexible with your times, you can usually get something. If you still can’t find one, check back frequently as people cancel their reservations all the time.
Disaster 2: It’s been raining all day and you’re caught without a poncho or umbrella
Forgetting your poncho or umbrella just stinks! It starts raining and you find yourself searching for the right place to buy a cheap umbrella or poncho! A Disney day in the rain isn’t fun for ANYONE! There are a few options though! You can find a place to seek shelter and wait out the rain.
There are a number of great restaurants or indoor rides in the parks you can take advantage of. Another option would be to head back to your resort and take a load off before returning to the parks. If you are willing, go ahead and buy the poncho and save yourself the trouble.
Disaster 3: You didn’t book any FastPasses
Whether you just didn’t know or you aren’t sure what you wanted, book them now! Log into the My Disney Experience app and find something! FastPasses are free so not booking them is like throwing money out the window! Check back throughout the day to find something that you want to ride, otherwise just pick rides that you don’t mind riding and enjoy the time not waiting in line!
Disaster 4: All the lines are extremely long and you have little kids in tow
If you are finding all long lines in the parks, consider a few factors. First, is it the time of day? Your best times for avoiding long lines are during meal times and in the mornings. If you are past those times, then you may want to consider taking a break and revisiting the long line rides. Wait for a time when a popular Disney character will be out or during a less peak time of the day to ride if you don’t have a FastPass.
Disaster 5: You forgot to pack something you need
You can have items shipped to your room or you can often find many of the items you are looking for or have forgotten at a Disney store location! There are shops in the parks and even at the resorts to help you buy things like bandaids or even water bottles.
You will always encounter something you didn’t prepare for! However, if you avoid these five scenarios, your trip will be better off for it.
