Regal Eagle Smokehouse Review: One of EPCOT’s Best Quick Service Restaurants

Thinking about eating at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT? Here’s my honest review, what to order, what I’d skip, and why I think it’s one of EPCOT’s best quick service restaurants.
I feel like Regal Eagle Smokehouse is one of the most underrated quick service restaurants in EPCOT.
Not because people don’t like it.
Because I don’t think enough people actually eat here.
Case in point…
I hardly ever eat here.
Not because I don’t want to.
Because my friend can’t really eat here.
She actually likes barbecue. The problem is that Regal Eagle uses quite a bit of garlic in a lot of their food, especially the sides, and garlic doesn’t agree with her. So more often than not, we end up eating somewhere else.
Which is kind of a shame.
Because every time I actually do eat here, I remember how much I like it.
😂
So every time we’re walking around World Showcase and I’m thinking, “Man…a brisket sandwich sounds really good right now,” somebody else wants sushi or fish and chips or tacos instead.
It’s a tragedy.
Because every time I actually do eat here, I remember how much I like it.

Regal Eagle is one of my favorite places to grab lunch in World Showcase, which is why it ranks near the top of my list of the best quick service restaurants at EPCOT.
If You’re Hungry, This Is the Place
One thing I really like about Regal Eagle is that it actually feels like a meal.
I know that sounds obvious.
But this is EPCOT.
Half the time I’m wandering around eating pastries in France, caramel in Germany, and festival food because I keep saying, “Ooooh…that looks good.”
Sometimes I just need real food.
Barbecue is real food.
It’s filling.
There’s lots of protein.
And unlike some quick service restaurants, I don’t walk away wondering if I’m going to be hungry again in an hour.

What I Order Every Time
My favorite thing on the menu is the Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich.
First of all…
It’s served on garlic toast.
I’m already interested.
The brisket has always been tender, it’s piled on there pretty generously, and it’s one of those sandwiches that actually feels worth paying Disney prices for.

If you’re hungrier than I usually am, I’d probably recommend one of the barbecue platters instead.
But for me?
The sandwich is just about perfect.
And whatever you do…
Get the baked beans with burnt ends.
I know.
Who gets excited about baked beans?
Apparently I do.
They’re really good.

Regal Eagle also usually has one of those frozen lemonade or slushy-type specialty drinks, and if it’s approximately one thousand degrees outside—which, let’s be honest, it usually is—they’re worth considering too.
The Dessert Wasn’t My Favorite
Everybody talks about the S’mores Brownie.
So naturally…
I had to try it.
It was good.
Not amazing.
Not bad.
Just…good.

If somebody at my table ordered one and wanted to split it, I’d absolutely have some.
Would I order it again?
Probably not.
My recommendation? Skip the S’mores Brownie and save your dessert calories for one of the treats in my guide to the best snacks at EPCOT. Trust me—there are too many amazing desserts in this park to settle for one that’s just “good.”
Is Regal Eagle Worth It?
Absolutely.
In fact, if somebody told me they wanted one meal at EPCOT that was actually going to keep them full for the rest of the afternoon, Regal Eagle would be near the top of my list.
Sometimes that’s exactly what I need.
I love snacking around World Showcase as much as anybody else, but there are days when I’d rather eat one really good meal than spend $8 here and $9 there every twenty minutes.
Regal Eagle is that kind of place.
You eat lunch.
You’re good.
Now you can go find a pastry in France later.
Or caramel in Germany.
Or whatever festival booth catches your eye.
A Few Tips Before You Go
If you’re thinking about eating here, here are a few things I’d keep in mind.
Come hungry.
These are generous portions. This isn’t one of those quick service meals where you’re wondering if you should have ordered something else, too.
Don’t skip the sides.
Seriously.
The baked beans with burnt ends are almost worth coming here by themselves.
I know that’s a weird thing to say about baked beans…
But here we are.
If it’s hot outside, check out the specialty drinks.
They usually have some kind of frozen lemonade or seasonal slushy, and they’re a nice way to cool off while you’re eating.
Skip dessert here.
Okay…maybe “skip” is too strong.
If you really want the S’mores Brownie, go for it.
But if you’re trying to decide where to spend your dessert calories, I’d save them for somewhere else in EPCOT.
There are just too many amazing desserts in this park.
Looking for something lighter? I also really like Kabuki Cafe in the Japan Pavilion, where you can grab a surprisingly good sushi roll or cool off with one of my favorite snacks in EPCOT—a refreshing kakigori.
Final Thoughts
I always wish I ate here more often.
Unfortunately, because my friend has to avoid garlic, Regal Eagle usually isn’t the easiest choice for our trips together. They use quite a bit of garlic in several of the dishes and sides, so we usually end up eating somewhere else.
Which is kind of a shame.
Because every time I do eat here, I leave thinking the exact same thing.
Why don’t I eat here more often?
The barbecue is consistently good.
The portions are generous.
There’s plenty of protein.
And honestly, I think it’s one of the better values in EPCOT.
No, it isn’t as iconic as Les Halles.
But it doesn’t need to be.
It just quietly serves really good barbecue, and sometimes that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
If you’ve spent the morning snacking your way around World Showcase and suddenly realize you want a real lunch…
This is where I’d go.
