They all have plenty of kid-friendly activities and would be great for kids of all ages (including adults).
These picks are definitely our favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Ocean City Maryland!
Ropewalk
The first thing I noticed about this awesome restaurant was the view. It was spectacular. I bet the sunsets here are gorgeous because of the bay side waterfront view. The kidโs menu was fun and they served lunch with a few Wikki Stix.
The restaurant is expansive but there are so many fun touches and photo ops (including a statue of Ronald Reagan). The playground is amazing as well. A fun pirate ship, plenty of sand, and other games.
Kid’s menu options include chicken tenders, hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, crispy shrimp, and pasta marinara.

Dead Freddies Island Grill
This pirate themed restaurant was so much fun! First of all, whatโs not to love about a kidโs drink with a big shark head? Ok, the kidโs menu is decent (my daughter is on a strict macaroni and cheese dietโฆ Dead Freddies did not disappoint). The regular menu was tasty too! I ordered the Chicken Jennifer; two grilled breasts topped with lump crab & diced tomatoes with creamy lemon butter or creamy tomato basil sauce served over smashed red bliss potatoes, rice pilaf or linguine. It was phenomenal.
But for real. Check out the playground. Actually they have two playgrounds. The smaller one is actually decent sized and perfect for younger kids. But the main playground will knock your socks off. Wow!
The children’s menu includes favorites like cheeseburger, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, chicken soft tacos, hot dogs, chicken planks (basically chicken nuggets), and quesadilla.
Fish Tales
Another highly rated family restaurant that did not disappoint was Fish Tales, a sprawling casual dining restaurant on 22nd street. Fish Tales claims to have Ocean Cityโs largest enclosed playground. I donโt know about that, but I can vouch for the fact that it is pretty awesome. One of the best things is you can request a table literally in front of the playground. And, the entire dining area near the playground is a big sandbox. That means even at your table, kids can play in the sand.
When we visited, Fish Tales even had free face (or arm) painting in the childrenโs play area. My daughter loved that!
But what about the food? Oh my goodness it was amazing. We indulged in the Duo- homemade guacamole, salsa, and guacamole chips. The salsa in particular was one of the best things I have eaten in a while. It was so fresh!
de Lazy Lizard
This is a great family friendly option that is close to the boardwalk end of Ocean City (Bayside). de Lazy Lizard is a waterfront restaurant and has a large outdoor play area for the kids and an open-air tiki bar for the adults. You can also dock a boat in their marina! This is one of the best family-friendly restaurants near the boardwalk and Ocean City inlet.
The kids menu has cheeseburger, grilled cheese, hot dog, chicken sandwich and chicken nuggets.

Marina Deck Restaurant
Marina Deck knows how to please the whole family. They have an amazing indoor play area. Each kid’s meal comes with 1 hour of play time and because the kid’s areas are indoors, it’s the perfect place to go when the weather is not awesome outside.
The Kiddie Korner menu has options like hot dogs, chicken tenders, cheeseburger sliders, Kraft Mac ‘n Cheese, fried shrimp, cheese quesadilla, and fish tenders.
Tailchasers
Another fun place with a great playground and innovative food in uptown Ocean City. The kid’s menu offers great selections like grilled cheese and friend shrimp. And at the end of dinner, kids can choose an ice cream pop for dessert!
There is outdoor seating near the playground so parents can relax while their kids play!
Alley Oops
We almost didn’t try this excellent restaurant out but it was raining.. and I am so glad it was! Alley Oops has two locations in Ocean City and both are full on fun! We visited the Midtown location and the first thing we loved was the shark tank in the dining area. Throughout the meal we could watch sharks and other marine wildlife swim by.
Then, after dinner we had a blast in the entertainment area of the restaurant. There is a decent-sized game room with tons of arcade games and a small bowling alley.
Their menu has plenty of kid-favorite fare too. My daughter loved her butter noodles and the soft pretzel appetizer. The kid’s menu also has grilled cheese, hamburger, cheeseburger, mac n cheese, hot dog, fish sticks, and chicken tenders.

Macky’s Bayside Bar and Grill
Macky’s Bayside Bar and Grill doesn’t have a playground for kids, but that doesn’t mean your kids will be bored. Nope. This fun bayside location has a beach/sand area. They give kids nets and let them search for treasures and play in the sand!
The children’s menu has favorites like pizza, macaroni and cheese, and chicken tenders.
