This Nighttime Scavenger Hunt is really easy to play. First of all, make sure it is actually dark outside. The darker it is, the more kids will have to use their ears to listen to the sounds of the night. Also, they will have to look more carefully to find some of the scavenger hunt items.

How to make this game even more fun?

You can play this game cooperatively as a family. This might be the best option for younger kids. Or, you could add competition to the game to make it even more fun! There are two main ways to do that would be to set a timer and whoever finds the most items in a set amount of time, wins. The second way would be to give your kids unlimited time to finish the hunt, but the winner is the person (or team) who finishes first.

You might want to put some ground rules in place. For instance, what are the boundaries of the search area? Do kids need to have a flashlight with them or at least a responsible adult? This game is meant to be fun and not overly challenging.. so make sure you enact the safety rules that make sense for your family.
