Aloha Isle Review: Is Magic Kingdom’s Famous Dole Whip Stand Worth It?

Wondering if Aloha Isle is worth the stop? Here’s my honest review of Disney World’s famous Dole Whip stand, plus my favorite menu item you shouldn’t miss.
Estimated reading time: 8 minutes
If you’ve been around Disney World for very long, you’ve probably heard people rave about Aloha Isle.
They’re usually talking about the Dole Whip.
And don’t get me wrong… the Dole Whip is really good.
But here’s the funny thing.
It’s not actually what I go there for anymore.
In fact, if someone asked me where to get the single best snack in Magic Kingdom, I’d send them to Aloha Isle… and then I’d tell them to skip the plain Dole Whip.
I know. That’s probably Disney blasphemy.
Hear me out.
For years, my favorite order was the Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl Dole Whip. I absolutely loved it. Every Disney vacation, I’d make my way over to Adventureland, order one, find a shady place to sit, and be perfectly happy.
Then Disney got rid of it.
I was so disappointed.
Seriously… I was kind of ridiculous about it.
Every trip after that, I’d look at the menu hoping maybe—just maybe—it had come back.
It never did.
Eventually I decided I should probably stop pouting and try something else.
So I ordered the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake.
Problem solved.
Actually… more than solved.
It turns out Disney accidentally did me a favor.
Because as much as I loved the Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake is even better.
Now it’s become one of those vacation traditions that I absolutely have to do.
And I mean have to.
If I leave Disney World without eating one, it honestly feels like I forgot to do something important.
That’s how much I love this dessert.

If you’re trying to decide where this ranks among all the snacks in the park, be sure to check out my Magic Kingdom snack rankings, where I compare more than 20 of my favorite sweet and savory snacks.
Where Is Aloha Isle?
Aloha Isle is in Adventureland, just a short walk from Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
It’s one of those snack stands that’s almost always busy, but don’t let that scare you away. The line usually moves faster than it looks, and from time to time (not always) mobile ordering is available if you don’t want to stand in the regular queue.
Aloha Isle is also just a short walk from Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, making it a great place to grab dessert after a fantastic table-service meals in Magic Kingdom.
There isn’t a ton of seating right around Aloha Isle, but honestly, I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
Part of the fun is wandering over to a shady spot in Adventureland, sitting down for a few minutes, and enjoying your snack while watching the crowds go by.
Or… do what my friend and I do.

One of our favorite Disney traditions is grabbing whatever we’re ordering from Aloha Isle and heading straight to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.
Not only can you bring your Dole Whip or Pineapple Upside-Down Cake inside the theater, but there’s also a fun pre-show while everyone is finding their seats. It’s air-conditioned, rarely has a long wait, and gives you the perfect excuse to slow down for about 15 minutes.
Honestly, I think it’s one of the best places in Magic Kingdom to enjoy an Aloha Isle treat. It sure beats trying to balance your dessert while sitting on a planter or searching for an open bench near The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
Now it’s just become part of our routine. Aloha Isle followed by the Enchanted Tiki Room.
Every. Single. Trip.
What’s on the Menu?
Even though most people think of Aloha Isle as “the Dole Whip place,” there’s actually quite a bit more to choose from.
The menu changes fairly often, so don’t be surprised if you see a seasonal float or specialty treat during your visit. That said, these are the items that tend to stick around:
- Pineapple Dole Whip
- Pineapple Float
- Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
- Tropical Serenade Float
- Seasonal Dole Whip flavors and floats
If you’ve never had Dole Whip before, it’s a pineapple-flavored soft serve that’s dairy-free and incredibly refreshing on a hot Florida afternoon. It’s become one of Disney World’s signature snacks for a reason.
But… if you’ve read this far, you probably already know what I’m going to recommend.

What I Ordered
🥇 Pineapple Upside-Down Cake ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is it.
This is the reason I stop at Aloha Isle every single trip.
If you’ve never had one, it’s exactly what it sounds like—a warm pineapple upside-down cake topped with a generous swirl of pineapple Dole Whip.
And somehow, the combination is even better than it sounds.
The cake is soft and buttery with just the right amount of pineapple flavor. Then you get the cold, creamy Dole Whip on top, and the contrast between the warm cake and the cold soft serve is just perfect.
I’ve eaten a lot of snacks at Disney World over the years.
This one is still my favorite.
In fact, I ranked it as my #1 snack in all of Magic Kingdom. That’s saying something.
The only snack that even comes close for me is the Nutella Fruit Waffle from Sleepy Hollow. If you haven’t tried that one yet either, check out my full Sleepy Hollow review—it’s easily one of the best snack stops in Magic Kingdom.
Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl Dole Whip ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Discontinued)
I know it’s gone.
I’m still talking about it anyway.
This used to be my favorite order at Aloha Isle, and I honestly miss it.
The raspberry added just enough tartness to balance the sweetness of the pineapple, and it was one of those snacks that tasted especially amazing on a hot summer afternoon.
Would I order it again if Disney ever brought it back?
Absolutely.
Would I still order the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake instead?
Honestly…
Probably.
As sad as I was to lose my favorite swirl, I accidentally discovered something even better.
What I’d Order Again
Without hesitation…
🥇 Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
That’s the one.
If you’re visiting Aloha Isle for the first time and only ordering one thing, that’s what I’d recommend.

If you’re a huge Dole Whip fan or you want to experience one of Disney World’s most iconic snacks, then by all means order a classic Dole Whip or a float.
But if you’re willing to branch out just a little…
Order the cake.
Trust me.
Is Aloha Isle Worth the Wait?
Absolutely.
In fact, I’d go one step further.
I think Aloha Isle is one of the few snack locations in Magic Kingdom that’s worth making a special trip for.
There aren’t many places in the park where I’d tell someone to walk across Magic Kingdom just for a snack.
This is one of them.
Even when the line stretches out into Adventureland, it usually moves pretty quickly. And thanks to mobile ordering, you can often save yourself even more time.
If it’s your first Disney vacation, I genuinely think Aloha Isle belongs on your must-do list.
Who Should Visit?
Aloha Isle is a great stop if you:
- Love pineapple or tropical flavors
- Want one of Disney World’s most iconic snacks
- Need something cold on a hot Florida day
- Are looking for a dessert that’s worth the calories
- Want a snack that’s unique to Disney World
Honestly…
I recommend it to just about everyone.
If you’re looking for something more substantial before dessert, I recommend grabbing lunch at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café and then walking over to Aloha Isle for the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake.

Final Thoughts
There are a lot of iconic snacks at Disney World.
Mickey bars.
Turkey legs.
Popcorn.
Churros.
And of course, Dole Whip.
But if someone asked me to name the one Disney snack I look forward to more than any other, it wouldn’t be a Mickey bar or even a classic Dole Whip.
It would be the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake from Aloha Isle.
It’s become part of my Disney tradition.
Every vacation, I make my way to Adventureland, order one, find a shady place to sit, and take a few minutes to just enjoy being at Disney World.
Maybe that’s why I love it so much.
It’s not just dessert anymore.
It’s one of those little moments that tells me…
“I’m finally back.”
