Sleepy Hollow Review: One of Magic Kingdom’s Best Snack Stops

Sleepy Hollow review

Thinking about stopping at Sleepy Hollow? Here’s my honest review of the famous Nutella waffle, what to expect, and why this Liberty Square snack stand is worth a visit.

Estimated reading time: 5 minutes

If you’ve spent any time looking up the best snacks at Magic Kingdom, you’ve probably come across Sleepy Hollow.

And for good reason.

This tiny little snack stand has become famous for its waffles, and after finally trying one for myself, I completely understand why.

Now, I’ll be honest…

I’ve only eaten one thing here.

The Fresh Fruit Waffle with Nutella.

But honestly?

I don’t really feel like I need to order anything else.

It’s that good.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

Where Is Sleepy Hollow?

Sleepy Hollow is located in Liberty Square, just across the bridge from Cinderella Castle.

Sleepy Hollow is also just steps from Liberty Tree Tavern, one of my favorite table service restaurants in Magic Kingdom. If you’re looking for a hearty sit-down meal instead of a quick snack, it’s well worth considering.

Because it’s right along one of the busiest walkways in Magic Kingdom, it’s an easy place to stop whether you’re heading into Fantasyland or making your way toward Frontierland.

One thing I love about Sleepy Hollow has nothing to do with the food. It’s one of my favorite places in Magic Kingdom to snap a picture of Cinderella Castle. If you happen to catch it on a quiet morning or just as the lighting starts to soften in the evening, you can get some really beautiful photos from this area.

So even if you aren’t hungry, it’s worth slowing down for a minute.

One of my favorite things about this area is the view of Cinderella Castle. If you’re lucky enough to have a reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table, you’re only a short walk away—and this is one of my favorite spots to stop for a photo before or after your meal.

The Fresh Fruit Waffle Is Worth the Hype

I’ve only ordered one thing here.

The Fresh Fruit Waffle with Nutella.

And honestly…

I don’t know that I need to try anything else.

It was fresh, loaded with fruit, and had just the right amount of Nutella without being overwhelmingly sweet.

It felt indulgent without making me feel like I’d just eaten an entire dessert.

Personally, I think it works just as well for breakfast as it does for an afternoon snack.

It’s one of those treats that actually lives up to the hype.

What About the Chicken and Waffles?

The other menu item that gets a lot of attention is the Chicken and Waffles.

I haven’t tried it myself.

From what I’ve heard, people either absolutely love it or think it’s a little too spicy.

Since I haven’t eaten it, I’m not going to pretend to have an opinion.

It’s definitely on my list to try during a future trip.

Is Sleepy Hollow Good for Families?

Absolutely.

The menu is small, which actually makes ordering pretty easy.

Kids will probably gravitate toward the sweet waffles, while adults can choose between sweet and savory depending on what they’re in the mood for.

The only downside is seating.

There really isn’t much.

Most people grab their food and either find a nearby table or simply enjoy it while taking in the view.

Who Might Want to Skip Sleepy Hollow?

If you’re looking for a full meal, Sleepy Hollow probably isn’t the right choice.

I think of it much more as a snack stop than a quick service restaurant.

If you’re hungry enough for lunch, I’d probably head over to Columbia Harbour House or Pecos Bill instead.

Sleepy Hollow is really about treating yourself to one of Magic Kingdom’s iconic snacks.

Things to Know Before You Go

A few quick tips:

  • Mobile Order is available.
  • Seating is very limited.
  • The Fresh Fruit Waffle is popular, so don’t wait until the very end of the day if it’s on your must-try list.
  • Take a minute to enjoy the view of Cinderella Castle while you’re there.

Is Sleepy Hollow Worth It?

Definitely.

Would I eat here every trip?

Probably.

At least once.

The Fresh Fruit Waffle with Nutella has become one of my favorite sweet snacks at Magic Kingdom, and it’s one of those treats I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting for the first time.

Final Thoughts

Sleepy Hollow may not have the biggest menu in Magic Kingdom, but it doesn’t need one.

Sometimes doing one thing really well is enough.

If you’re looking for a delicious waffle, a quick snack, or one of the prettiest spots to pause for a few minutes in Liberty Square, Sleepy Hollow is absolutely worth a visit.
