Epic Eats Review: Don’t Skip the Funnel Cake
Is Epic Eats worth visiting? Here’s my honest review of the Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake, plus tips on whether this Hollywood Studios dessert stop is worth your time.
There are some places at Hollywood Studios that you plan your day around.
Epic Eats isn’t one of them.
In fact, it’s really easy to walk right past it.
It’s a little walk-up stand between Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Star Tours, and if you’re not paying attention, you might not even notice it’s there.
That would be a shame.
Because if you’re in the mood for something sweet, Epic Eats serves one of my favorite desserts in Hollywood Studios.
The Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake.
I don’t stop here every trip.
But when I’m craving something ridiculously over-the-top…
This is exactly where I’m headed.

Atmosphere
There’s honestly not much to say about Epic Eats itself.
It’s a snack stand.
You order, grab your funnel cake, and find somewhere to sit.
Simple as that.
Most people either take it over toward Echo Lake or find a nearby table to tackle the mountain of whipped cream before it starts melting.
And yes…
I said mountain.
These aren’t little county fair funnel cakes.
Disney doesn’t really know how to do “small” when it comes to desserts.
What I Ordered
Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake
This is exactly what you think it is.
A warm funnel cake piled high with cookies-and-cream ice cream, crushed chocolate cookies, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. And to finish it off, two oreos positioned like Mickey Mouse ears.. because, of course.
It’s messy, sweet, and absolutely impossible to eat gracefully.
And it’s really good.
This is not a dessert I’d order if I were eating by myself.
Could I finish it?
Probably.
Would I feel great afterward?
Probably not.
I think this is one of those snacks that’s at its best when you’re sharing it with another person. Everybody gets a few bites, everybody leaves happy, and nobody has to roll themselves to the next attraction.
One thing I really liked is that the funnel cake itself didn’t get lost under all the toppings.
Sometimes Disney desserts are so overloaded that you can’t even taste what’s underneath.
That wasn’t the case here.
You still get that warm, slightly crispy funnel cake in every bite, and the cookies-and-cream toppings just make it even better.
Would I Come Back?
Definitely.
Not because I think Hollywood Studios is missing funnel cakes.
It isn’t.
I come back because this one is just really well done.
I also like that it’s a little tucked away.
Depending on what time of day you’re there, it can feel like one of those places that people accidentally overlook because they’re heading to Indiana Jones or Star Tours.
If you’ve got a few minutes before a show starts, this is actually a great place to grab something sweet.
If you’re still craving something sweet after your funnel cake, take a short walk over to Hollywood Scoops. Their Mickey Mouse Brownie Sundae is my favorite snack in all of Hollywood Studios and another great dessert if you’re exploring the Sunset Boulevard area.
Need something a little more filling than dessert? Backlot Express is just around the corner and is one of my favorite quick-service restaurants near Echo Lake. It’s also home to the giant Wookiee Cookie if you somehow still have room for dessert.
A Few Tips Before You Go
First…
Share it.
Seriously.
Unless you’re absolutely starving or you’re planning to call this lunch, I’d split it with somebody.
It’s a lot.
Second, don’t be afraid to see if they’re offering a seasonal funnel cake.
Disney likes to rotate desserts throughout the year, and sometimes those limited-time offerings look pretty incredible. Even if you end up sticking with the Cookies ‘n Cream Funnel Cake, it’s always worth taking a quick look at the menu.
And finally…
Don’t wear your favorite white shirt.
I’m only half joking.
Between the powdered sugar, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and melting ice cream, this isn’t exactly the neatest dessert in Hollywood Studios.
Final Thoughts
Epic Eats isn’t trying to be a full restaurant.
It’s not trying to have twenty different desserts on the menu.
It’s a little snack stand that happens to make a really good funnel cake.
Sometimes that’s all you need.
If you’ve never had a funnel cake at Disney World, I think this is a great place to start. And if you already know you love funnel cakes, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by the Cookies ‘n Cream version.
It ranked #6 in my Hollywood Studios snack rankings, and I’d happily order it again.
Maybe not every trip…
But whenever I’m in the mood for a ridiculously messy, over-the-top Disney dessert.
This is probably where you’ll find me.
