Storybook Treats Review: Is This Fantasyland Dessert Stand Worth It?

Wondering if Storybook Treats is worth a stop? Read my honest review of this Fantasyland dessert stand, including the Rapunzel Sundae, Aurora Cone, and my favorite menu items.
I don’t think Storybook Treats gets enough love.
Seriously.
When people start talking about Disney snacks, it’s always Dole Whip. Cheeseburger Spring Rolls. Mickey bars. Maybe the Cheshire Cat Tail if they’ve done a little research.
Poor Storybook Treats just kind of sits over there in Fantasyland doing its thing.
And that’s a shame.
Because I’ve had two desserts here—the Rapunzel Sundae and the Aurora Cone—and honestly, I’d order both of them again.
In fact, the Rapunzel Sundae ended up being my #6 favorite snack in all of Magic Kingdom.
Not dessert.
Snack.
Overall.
That’s pretty impressive considering how many good snacks there are in this park.
If you’re already spending time in Fantasyland—and let’s face it, almost everyone is—I’d absolutely recommend making a quick stop here.

Where Is Storybook Treats?
Storybook Treats is tucked into Fantasyland near Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
It’s one of those places that’s really easy to walk right past.
Actually… I think that’s part of the reason it doesn’t get talked about very much.
Most people are either racing to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, heading toward Peter Pan’s Flight, or trying to make it to their Lightning Lane before the return window expires.
Meanwhile, Storybook Treats is just sitting there serving really good ice cream.
One thing I like about Storybook Treats is that it’s surrounded by several good places to eat. If you’re ready for lunch instead of dessert, The Friar’s Nook is literally right next door and one of my favorite places in Fantasyland for a savory snack.
It’s also only about a minute walk from Pinocchio Village Haus, so it’s an easy dessert stop after lunch if you’re already spending time in Fantasyland.
I kind of love that.
There isn’t a huge seating area, but that’s never bothered me. We usually just find a nearby bench or a shady spot and take a few minutes to relax before moving on to the next attraction.
Honestly, Fantasyland can be hectic.
Sometimes an ice cream break is exactly what you need.
What’s on the Menu?
The menu here changes pretty regularly, which is one of the things I like about it.
Disney rotates specialty sundaes and cones throughout the year, so every trip feels a little different.
That also means if you see something that looks amazing…
…don’t assume it’ll still be there next year.
The two desserts I’ve tried are:
- Rapunzel Sundae
- Aurora Cone
There have been plenty of other themed treats over the years too, and I always enjoy seeing what Disney comes up with next.

What I Ordered
Rapunzel Sundae ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one completely lived up to my expectations.
Actually… it probably exceeded them.
Disney has gotten really good at making desserts that are almost too pretty to eat.
Almost.
Thankfully, this isn’t one of those desserts that’s all looks and no flavor.
It actually tastes as good as it looks.
It’s creamy, refreshing, fun, and exactly the kind of dessert I want after walking around Magic Kingdom for several hours.
Would I order it again?
Without hesitation.

Aurora Cone ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
The Aurora Cone was another pleasant surprise.
It’s colorful, refreshing, and just plain fun.
Would I pick it over the Rapunzel Sundae?
No.
But that’s mostly because I liked the Rapunzel Sundae so much.
If the Aurora Cone had been the only specialty dessert available that day, I would have walked away perfectly happy.
What I’d Order Again
This one’s easy.
If the Rapunzel Sundae is available…
Order it.
If it isn’t?
I’d happily get the Aurora Cone again.
Honestly, one of the fun things about Storybook Treats is seeing whatever Disney has dreamed up for the current season.
Is Storybook Treats Worth Stopping For?
I think this depends on where you are.
Would I tell someone to leave Frontierland and hike all the way over to Fantasyland just for Storybook Treats?
Probably not.
But if you’re already riding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, “it’s a small world,” or Winnie the Pooh…
Absolutely.
I’d choose one of these specialty desserts over a basic novelty ice cream bar every single time.
If you’re crossing the park specifically for dessert, I’d still give the edge to Aloha Isle. The Pineapple Upside-Down Cake is my favorite snack in all of Magic Kingdom, but Storybook Treats is a fantastic option if you’re already exploring Fantasyland.
Who Should Visit?
I think Storybook Treats is perfect for:
- Ice cream lovers.
- Families exploring Fantasyland.
- Anyone looking for a fun afternoon treat.
- People who enjoy Disney’s themed desserts.
- Anyone who wants something a little different from the standard Mickey bars you can find all over the park.
If you’re planning a little snack crawl through Fantasyland and Liberty Square, pair Storybook Treats with a stop at Sleepy Hollow for the famous Nutella Fruit Waffle. Between those two snacks, you’ve got two of my favorites in the entire park.
Final Thoughts
One of my favorite things about Disney World is stumbling across places that aren’t necessarily famous but end up becoming part of your vacation anyway.
That’s Storybook Treats for me.
It isn’t as iconic as Aloha Isle.
It probably never will be.
But that’s okay.
Sometimes the best Disney snacks aren’t the ones everyone is talking about.
Sometimes they’re the little places you happen to discover between attractions.
And if Disney happens to have the Rapunzel Sundae on the menu when you visit…
Don’t overthink it.
Just order it.
