Looking for one of the best places to eat in Magic Kingdom with views of Cinderella Castle? This Plaza Restaurant review covers the updated menu, best dishes (RIP, Monte Cristo!), and what to expect inside this charming table service spot on Main Street, U.S.A.

Quick Snapshot

  • The Plaza is located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., just next door to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
  • This sweet and understated table service restaurant serves classic American fare with comforting dishes like pot roast, (formerly) Monte Cristo sandwiches, and crispy french fries
  • This is one of the cheapest table service restaurants in Magic Kingdom
  • There are no characters, but great views of Cinderella Castle
  • Family-friendly, quiet, and a great place to cool off in the high traffic area of Magic Kingdom
  • Mobile check-in available through the My Disney Experience app
  • Definitely make a reservation—this spot is tiny and fills up
  • But if you don’t make a reservation this is a great option for a walk-up reservation. There is usually same-day availability
  • Ideal for anyone looking for a great option to escape the crowds and enjoy a relaxed dining experience

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 for food and 4/5 for service. But for value, 5/5!

First Impressions: Cozy, Classic, and a Little Overlooked

The Plaza is one of those table service restaurants you might totally miss. No one jumps on an advanced dining reservation for The Plaza because it’s not one of the more popular Magic Kingdom restaurants.

It sits right at the end of Main Street U.S.A., located between the ice cream parlor and the Hub. It’s small and sweet, decorated with soft art nouveau touches, curved mirrors, and a bit of an old-school soda shop vibe.

Our Cast Member was all smiles and super efficient. She seated us quickly and even gave us all the details on how to time our meal so we could catch the parade right outside. I love it when we get some unexpected pixie dust!

The Plaza Restaurant’s Menu: Classic, Craveable, and Comforting

If you’re craving something warm and familiar like burgers, sandwiches, and mashed potatoes, the Plaza Restaurant’s menu is all comfort food. It’s not bougie. Pretty much everything on the menu is just solid, satisfying food with a few fun surprises.

You’ve got options like:

  • Chipotle Barbecue Pork Sandwich
  • Plaza Loaded Fries (topped with cheese sauce, bacon, and green onion)
  • Bacon Cheeseburger
  • Crispy Chicken Sandwich
  • Pot Roast Stack with spicy sour cream
  • Turkey Club Sandwich
  • Great salads
  • A full ice cream and dessert menu with vanilla ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, and the richest hot fudge you’ve ever tried

It’s a great spot for picky eaters, tired adults, or just anyone needing a real sit-down break from chicken nuggets and churros.

What We Ordered (and What We’d Get Again)

We have actually eaten here twice. The first time was in 2021.

At that time, the Monte Cristo was the star. This over-the-top sandwich was ham and turkey, deep-fried, dusted in powdered sugar, and served with berry jam. Sweet and savory in the weirdest and best way. Unfortunately, the Monte Cristo is no longer on the menu. Which is tragic. I hope they bring it back.

We also had an amazing meatloaf, which is unfortunately not on the menu anymore. For real, I am holding out that they bring back these comfort food items!

My daughter had ordered a baked chicken with mashed potatoes.

And she ordered the thickest chocolate milkshake for dessert!

We ate again at The Plaza in 2024 and the menu had completely changed.

I ordered the Shrimp Louie Salad, which has chilled Shrimp, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, avocado, and cucumber over romaine served with a zesty rémoulade. This was really the best salad for a refreshing lunch.

For dessert, we went all in with a Plaza Restaurant sundae, vanilla ice cream sundae topped with thick hot fudge, choppped nuts, whipped cream, and a cherry. My friends asked for extra chocolate sauce and peanut butter and the cast member delived!

It tasted like a throwback to childhood. Honestly? I might go back just for that.

Kid-Friendliness & Allergy Help

This place is a great option if you’ve got kids in tow. It’s not loud or overwhelming, and there are familiar choices like chicken tenders, grilled cheese, and fries.

They also do a nice job with allergy concerns—just ask for the allergy binder. Our server even offered to have the chef come out if we had more questions. Disney service at its best.

Service & Vibe

Dining at The Plaza is the perfect retreat from the chaos that is Magic Kingdom’s Main Street. Inside it’s quiet, air-conditioned, and gives off cozy diner energy. Our Cast Member paced our meal perfectly—no rushing, but we never had to flag anyone down either.

It’s definitely not trying to be fine dining, but the service makes the whole experience feel more elevated than your typical park restaurant.

Price & Value: Best Kept Secret?

It really might be. At around $20–$25 per entrée, The Plaza is one of the cheapest table service restaurants in the park. We paid under $75 for our family of three, including a shared dessert and appetizer. You just can’t beat that inside Magic Kingdom.

If you’re using the Disney Dining Plan, it’s a solid value too—only one table service credit.

Reservation Tips

This place is small, so snagging a reservation is your best bet. But don’t stress if you forget—there’s usually a walk-up waitlist on the app. Try mid-afternoon (2–4 PM) when crowds thin out a bit.

Pro Tip

If you can time it right before the Festival of Fantasy Parade, you’ll get prime seating for the show just outside.

Final Thoughts

The Plaza might not have the draw of Cinderella’s Royal Table. And it’s not going to be as immersive as Skipper Canteen. But it’s quietly one of the best places to eat in Magic Kingdom if you just want good food and a comfortable spot to sit down.

It’s a great option for families, couples, or even solo visitors who need a break from the bustle. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel—it’s just really good at what it does.

Would I go back? Absolutely. For the ice cream and those Plaza Loaded Fries alone. And if you’re lucky enough to score a window seat? That view of the castle makes it even better.
