Washington County Regional Park

Broadford Park
Broadford Lake Park is a super fun hidden gem in Western MD. The park is only open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. The cost to enter is $4/car M-F and $5/car on the weekends and holidays. There is tons of parking, restrooms, etc..
There are actually 3 playgrounds. A small playground by the boat launch, a small but lovely playground by the beach area, and a large playground in the picnic area. There is also a walking trail around the lake that connects all the areas of the park.

Dan’s Mountain State Park
The tire playground at Dan’s Mountain State Park is awesome. The bathrooms are clean and the picnic area is perfect for a secluded lunch in the woods.

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad- Train Playground
Downtown Cumberland is a really cute and historic town. It’s very walkable. Typically visitors arrive in Cumberland because they are riding on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, but there are other fun things to do!
Outside the station, there is a super cute train-themed playground and in warm weather months, a nice fountain.

Camp Harding Park

Hagerstown City Park
Hagerstown City Park? Oh. My. Word. This place is amazing and pretty much worth a day trip all on its own!
The centerpiece of this park is the lovely lake/pond with art sculptures, walking paths, cute bridges, streams, benches, and yes.. fountains! It’s really sooo lovely!
Feed the swans! Ok, you can purchase fees (don’t use bread) from the snack area and feed the hordes.. yes hordes.. of very friendly geese, ducks, and swans.
There is not only one, but two very nice playgrounds.. shaded, loads of swings and fun play features, fully inclusive.. did I mention 2 playgrounds?

Marty Snook Mythical Woods Park
If you want a place where your kids can run wild and you can spend hours outdoors, Martin “Marty” L. Snook Memorial Park is it. Located in Hagerstown (just minutes from the outlets!), this park is huge—but surprisingly easy to navigate.
