Review of Baseline Taphouse at Hollywood Studios

Baseline Taphouse at hollywood studios

Baseline Taphouse is one of those places at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that doesn’t get hyped up the way it probably should. It’s not flashy. There are no characters. There’s no elaborate backstory you need to know ahead of time. And honestly? That’s kind of the point.

If you’ve ever reached that moment in the park where your feet hurt, you’re hungry now, and the idea of a full table service meal sounds exhausting, Baseline Tap House is a really solid answer.

For us, this has become a go-to pit stop — not because of the beer (I’ll get to that), but because the snacks are genuinely good and it’s one of the better places in the park to just sit and breathe for a bit.

Where Baseline Taphouse Fits Into Your Day

Baseline Taphouse sits in the Grand Avenue area, near the former Streets of America and not far from Muppets Courtyard. It’s also an easy stop if you’re bouncing between Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, or heading toward classics like the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.

What I really like about this location is that it feels slightly tucked away, even though it’s not inconvenient. It’s close enough to everything, but far enough removed that it doesn’t feel chaotic. That makes it a great spot to reset before diving back into the crowds.

Let’s Talk About the Food (Because It’s the Real Draw)

I’ll just say it upfront: the food here is better than it needs to be.

The Giant Bavarian Pretzel

If you order one thing at Baseline Taphouse, it should be the bavarian pretzel. Full stop.

This thing is huge. Like, actually giant. It’s soft on the inside, nicely chewy, and has just enough of those slightly toasty notes on the outside to keep it interesting. It comes with dipping sauces — including beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard — and all of them are good.

The beer-cheese fondue is creamy and rich without being heavy, and the spicy mustard has enough kick to keep things from feeling bland. I’m not exaggerating when I say this might be the best pretzel on Disney property. It’s absolutely shareable, but you could also make a very solid dent in it solo.

The Charcuterie Board

The charcuterie board here is another win, and it’s more filling than you might expect. This isn’t a tiny “snack board” situation. You get calabrese salamitoma farmstead cheesePoint Reyes Original Blue Cheese, and Laura Chenel’s Sonoma Goat Cheese, plus accompaniments that actually make sense together.

We’ve ordered the charcuterie board and the pretzel together, and between the two of them, it easily works as a light meal for two people. If you’re not starving but need something substantial, this combo hits the sweet spot.

Other Snacks and Menu Changes

On a previous visit, we ordered the spiced nuts, which were really good — crunchy, flavorful, and easy to snack on. Those have since been replaced with kettle chips, which honestly still fit the vibe just fine.

The menu here does rotate a bit, but the overall idea stays the same: simple snacks, good quality, and nothing that feels fussy.

Drinks: A Beer Lover’s Stop (Even If You’re Not One)

Baseline Taphouse is known for its California beer selection, and if you’re a beer person, this is a great spot. There are plenty of tap choices, including options from North Coast Brewing Company (like North Coast Red Seal), plus other California brews inspired by places like San Diego, Fort Bragg, and Los Angeles.

You can also build your own beer flight, which a lot of people really enjoy.

Now, full transparency: I am not a beer drinker at all. I ordered the wild strawberry lemonade, and while it was fine, it wasn’t particularly memorable. It cooled me off, but it wasn’t something I’d go out of my way to order again.

There are other options, though — wine like St. Francis Chardonnay, hard cider, and non-alcoholic drinks like the Barrilitos strawberry hibiscus soda. So even if beer isn’t your thing, you won’t feel stuck.

Seating, Atmosphere, and Why It Works

One of the underrated strengths of Baseline Taphouse is the seating. There’s plenty of outdoor space, and it’s one of the easier places in the park to actually sit down without feeling rushed.

This makes it a great spot for people watching, regrouping with Disney friends, or just taking a quiet break before heading back out into the Florida sun. It’s casual, relaxed, and doesn’t demand anything from you — which is exactly what I want from a lounge like this.

Family Travel Tips: Is Baseline Taphouse Kid-Friendly?

While Baseline Taphouse is definitely more adult-leaning, it still works well for families. The pretzel is very kid-friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and you’re not committing to a long dining experience.

If you’re traveling with kids who are snacky but not ready for a full meal, this is a really good choice. Just keep in mind that it’s more of a snack stop than a full dinner replacement.

Final Thoughts: Would I Stop Here Again?

Yes — absolutely.

Baseline Taphouse isn’t flashy, and it doesn’t try to be. But the food is consistently good, the giant pretzel is genuinely excellent, and it’s one of the easier places in Hollywood Studios to take a real break.

If you’re looking for a great spot to grab small plates, enjoy a quick drink, and reset before moving on to the next thing, Baseline Taphouse is a very solid choice — and one I’d happily return to next time.
