Hyatt Place Page Lake Powell review

Wondering where to stay in Page, Arizona? Here’s our honest Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell review, including the rooms, breakfast, pool, desert views, and why we would absolutely stay here again.

Estimated reading time: 14 minutes

When we stayed in Page, Arizona, we picked the Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell, and I really think we got this one right.

Like, really right.

There are not a ton of hotel choices in Page, but even if there were, I would still probably pick this one again. It was just a really nice hotel. Clean, comfortable, easy, and a little nicer than your basic chain hotel without being fussy.

I tend to like Hyatt Place hotels anyway. They are still very much family hotels, but they feel a little more upscale than some of the other chains in that same general category.

And by upscale, I do not mean fancy.

I mean the beds are usually really comfortable. The air conditioning actually works and you can control it. The bathrooms are nice. The common areas are pleasant. Breakfast is usually good.

Basically, all the things I actually care about when I am staying somewhere.

And this Hyatt Place checked all of those boxes.

The Hotel Was Just Really Comfortable

The lobby was much nicer than I expected.

There was this big stone fireplace, lots of seating, and plenty of space where you could actually sit and hang out without feeling like you were awkwardly sitting in a hotel lobby.

I also liked that the decor felt like Page.

There were maps and local pictures and Southwest-looking details, so it did not feel like they had just dropped the exact same hotel into Arizona that they would have put in Ohio or Maryland or wherever.

And then there were the views.

The Desert View Took a Minute to Grow on Me

Our room looked out over the desert, which was actually really cool.

But I will say this.

If you are used to trees, the desert is a little jarring.

I remember looking out the window and thinking, wow. There is really nothing out there.

Like… nothing.

It is red dirt and rock and this huge open landscape that just keeps going.

But then after a while, you start looking at it differently. The red rock really is beautiful. The way the light hits everything changes throughout the day. And the sunsets are gorgeous.

So it definitely grew on me.

Would it grow on me enough that I would want to live in Page?

No. Probably not.

But I really liked visiting.

And I really liked that our room had such a huge window looking out over all of it.

It made the desert feel like part of the stay.

A Really Good Place to Come Back to After Sightseeing

Page is one of those places where you are probably not going to sit in your hotel room all day.

You are going to Antelope Canyon. You are going to Horseshoe Bend. You are going to Glen Canyon Dam. You are going to overlooks and tours and all the other things around town.

So for me, I do not need a hotel in Page to be some huge resort experience.

I need it to be comfortable when I get back.

And this one was.

We could come back after being out all day, cool off, relax, sit in the room, look out at the desert, and just decompress for a little while.

That was exactly what we needed.

Our Room at the Hyatt Place Page

Our room was really comfortable.

We had two beds, plus a separate little sitting area with a sectional couch, which I always appreciate when we are traveling as a family.

Because even if you are only staying somewhere for a couple nights, it is nice to have somewhere to sit that is not the bed.

And the room was actually pretty spacious.

It did not feel like we were all piled on top of each other with suitcases everywhere, which can definitely happen in hotel rooms.

The beds were really comfortable too.

That is one of the things I tend to like about Hyatt Place hotels in general. I feel like I can pretty consistently count on having a good bed, decent pillows, and air conditioning that actually gets the room cold.

And yes, that last one matters to me.

Especially in Arizona.

The bathroom was nice too. Nothing crazy fancy, but clean, modern, good water pressure, and basically exactly what I want from a hotel bathroom.

Breakfast Was Actually Really Good

The Hyatt Place also had a full breakfast in the morning, and it was actually really good.

And apparently what I personally decided was most important about this breakfast was the chocolate donuts with sprinkles.

Because of course I did.

They had plenty of other food too, so you could definitely eat an actual breakfast here and not just live on donuts.

But the donuts were yummy.

I also really like having breakfast included when we are doing this kind of trip because mornings can get busy really fast.

If you have an Antelope Canyon tour or something else scheduled, it is so much easier to just go downstairs, eat, and get moving instead of trying to figure out where everybody wants to go for breakfast.

It is one less decision.

And I am always a fan of one less decision on a travel morning.

The Outdoor Areas Were One of My Favorite Parts

This hotel had some really nice outdoor spaces too.

There is a pool, although we did not use it.

Honestly, we were too busy doing everything else in Page.

But it was a nice pool area, and if you were traveling when it was really hot or had kids who needed some downtime, I could absolutely see that being useful.

What I liked even more was the patio.

There were tables, comfortable chairs, shaded areas, and just these huge views out over the desert.

You could sit out there with coffee, read a book, hang out for a while, or just stare at the landscape.

There was also a fire pit area with chairs around it, which was really cute.

And then out behind the hotel they had this giant wooden picture frame set up against the desert.

Of course we had to go play with it.

My daughter climbed around on it, and we took a bunch of ridiculous pictures because apparently you cannot just stand normally inside a giant picture frame when somebody gives you the opportunity.

There was also this little rock circle nearby, which naturally became another thing to investigate.

None of this is some massive hotel amenity.

It was just fun.

And I liked that they had put some thought into making the outdoor space feel connected to where you actually were.

This Hotel Felt Like More Than Just Somewhere to Sleep

That is probably the thing I liked most about the Hyatt Place Page.

It was still a regular hotel.

We were not staying at some giant resort.

But it had enough little extras that it felt like more than just a room where we dumped our luggage at night.

The lobby was nice.

The room was comfortable.

Breakfast was good.

There was a pool.

There were great outdoor spaces.

And everywhere you looked, you had that crazy desert landscape reminding you that you were definitely not at home.

For a Page trip, it worked really, really well.

Is Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell Worth It?

Oh, absolutely.

This is one of those hotel reviews where I really do not have much of a downside to give you.

If we went back to Page tomorrow, I would have zero problem booking this hotel again.

Honestly, I would probably just book it and be done.

There might be other perfectly nice hotels in Page, but I already know this one works. And when I find a hotel that is comfortable, clean, has good beds, good air conditioning, a good breakfast, and is actually pleasant to come back to at the end of the day?

I am not usually looking for reasons to reinvent the wheel.

I Think Hyatt Place Works Really Well for Families

Obviously, we stayed here as a family, and I thought it worked really well for us.

The room had enough space. We had the couch area. We were not tripping over each other all the time. And having breakfast right downstairs made the mornings really easy.

That is especially helpful in Page because you might actually have somewhere you need to be at a specific time.

Antelope Canyon tours are not exactly a “we’ll get there whenever” kind of activity.

So being able to wake up, go downstairs, grab breakfast, and get everybody out the door was really convenient.

But I would not say this is only a family hotel either.

If I came back to Page by myself, I would stay here.

If my husband and I came back without our daughter, I would stay here.

It is just a really comfortable hotel.

It Was a Great Base for Everything We Wanted to Do

Another reason I liked it so much is that we were not really coming to Page to hang around at the hotel.

We had things to do.

We were going to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. We wanted to see Glen Canyon Dam. We were driving around to overlooks and exploring the area.

So I did not need some giant resort with a million activities.

I needed a good place to sleep and a nice place to come back to.

And Hyatt Place was better than that, actually.

Because once we did come back, we had the patio, the desert views, the fire pit area, the pool if we had wanted it, and plenty of places to just sit for a while.

It was nice.

That sounds like such a basic thing, but after you have been out sightseeing all day, “nice” counts for a lot.

Would I Stay Here Again?

Yep.

One hundred percent.

I really do think we picked the perfect hotel for our Page trip.

And I know “perfect” is a strong word, but I honestly cannot think of anything I would have needed this hotel to do differently for the kind of trip we were taking.

The beds were comfortable. The room was comfortable. The air conditioning worked. The breakfast was good.

I got my chocolate donut.

The hotel was clean.

And then you had those gorgeous desert views everywhere.

Even if the desert itself took me a minute.

I still don’t think I am moving to Page anytime soon. I need trees. 😂

But I really enjoyed visiting.

And if we go back, I would happily stay at the Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell again.
