Canada Pavilion at EPCOT: Everything You Need to See, Eat, and Do
Explore the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT, including Canada Far and Wide, the waterfall and gardens, Le Cellier Steakhouse, maple popcorn and more.

The Canada Pavilion at EPCOT is one of those World Showcase pavilions that is much bigger than it looks from the promenade.
If you are just walking around World Showcase, you might notice the impressive Hotel du Canada, see some pretty gardens, and keep moving. And if you do that, you are going to miss most of the pavilion.
Because Canada goes back.
Walk past the gardens and suddenly you are heading into the Canadian Rockies. There are towering rock walls, waterfalls, streams, wooden bridges, little mining details, and pathways that wind through the mountains before eventually depositing you at Canada Far and Wide.
And having recently visited the Canadian Rockies myself, I have to say: Disney did a surprisingly good job here.
Actually, I have some thoughts about those rocks. 😂
Canada also has one of EPCOT’s classic Circle-Vision attractions, live entertainment, some excellent snacks, and one of the most popular restaurants in all of World Showcase.
So don’t just take a picture of the gardens and leave. You really need to walk into this one.
Where Is the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT?
The Canada Pavilion is located between the United Kingdom Pavilion and the entrance back toward World Celebration.
That makes Canada either the first or last World Showcase pavilion you encounter depending on which direction you decide to walk around the lagoon.
And I think that location probably contributes to Canada getting overlooked.
If you’re starting World Showcase here, you may be anxious to get moving because you have ten more countries ahead of you. If you’re ending here, there’s a decent chance you’ve already walked approximately 47 miles and are thinking primarily about finding somewhere to sit down. 😂
Either way, resist the temptation to just walk past.
There is much more behind that beautiful facade than you can see from the main walkway.
Start With the Beautiful Canada Pavilion Gardens
One of the first things you’ll notice in Canada is just how pretty it is.
The landscaping here is gorgeous.
There are manicured lawns, enormous flower beds, ponds, trees and seasonal plantings surrounding the pavilion. One of the most recognizable displays is the giant Canadian flag created entirely out of flowers.
And this is another pavilion where I think the landscaping deserves to be considered an attraction in its own right.
You don’t have to do anything here. Walk around. Take pictures. Slow down for a few minutes.
Disney is very, very good at gardens.
Look Up at the Hotel du Canada
Towering above the gardens is the Hotel du Canada, which gives this entire section of the pavilion its grand architectural centerpiece.
And despite the name, no, you cannot actually stay here. 😂
The building was inspired by the grand railway hotels that became such an iconic part of Canadian tourism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With its stone exterior, steep copper-colored roof and castle-like turrets, it certainly looks like the kind of place where you should be able to check in.
You can’t.
But it makes one heck of a backdrop.
The pavilion also incorporates other architectural and cultural influences as you explore, so don’t assume the Hotel du Canada is all there is to see.
Because this is where Canada starts getting really interesting.
Walk INTO the Canada Pavilion
This may be my single biggest tip for visiting Canada at EPCOT:
Keep walking.
Don’t just stand along the World Showcase promenade and look at it.
The pathways take you deeper into the pavilion, and the manicured gardens gradually give way to something completely different.
Rocks begin surrounding you. A stream runs through the landscape. Wooden walkways squeeze between enormous canyon walls.
And then you hear the waterfall.
Suddenly EPCOT doesn’t look very much like Florida anymore.
Disney Hid the Canadian Rockies Back Here
This part of the Canada Pavilion is designed to evoke the Canadian Rockies, and it is probably my favorite part of the entire pavilion.
The rockwork is enormous.
You’ll walk through narrow passages and across rustic bridges while water rushes through the canyon below you. There are waterfalls, evergreen trees, mossy rocks and little details suggesting Canada’s mining history tucked into the scenery.
And the farther you walk into it, the easier it becomes to forget that Spaceship Earth is sitting just a few hundred yards away.
This is old-school EPCOT environmental storytelling.
There isn’t a ride back here.
There doesn’t need to be.
The environment is the attraction.
And About Those Canadian Rockies…
Okay.
I have to talk about this. 😂
I recently visited Johnston Canyon in Banff National Park, and while walking through the Canada Pavilion afterward, I had one of those moments where my brain basically went:
WAIT.
Because look at this place.
Johnston Canyon has narrow limestone canyon walls, rushing water, waterfalls, bridges and walkways tucked directly against the rock.
And then look at EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion.
I mean…
COME ON. 😂
Disney describes the pavilion’s landscape more broadly as representing the Canadian Rockies, and I have not found documentation showing that Imagineers specifically modeled this area after Johnston Canyon.
So I am not claiming that they did.
But having now walked through both places myself, the resemblance is pretty darn striking.
At minimum, if you have traveled through Banff and the Canadian Rockies, there is a very good chance this part of EPCOT is going to feel familiar.
And I love that.
Don’t Miss the Waterfall
Even if you don’t have time to explore every corner of the pavilion, walk far enough back to see the waterfall.
It’s one of those wonderfully unnecessary Disney details.
Disney could have built a couple of fake mountains behind the gardens and called it Canada.
Instead, they built an entire canyon with rushing water.
The waterfall also creates one of the most dramatic little pockets of World Showcase, especially when you get close enough that the sound of the water starts drowning out the rest of EPCOT.
It’s worth the detour.
Look for the Little Mining Details
While you’re back here, pay attention to the props scattered around the canyon.
You’ll see crates marked IMPORTS, barrels—including, naturally, one labeled MAPLE SYRUP 😂—a wheelbarrow and other details suggesting a remote Canadian mining settlement.
None of these things are attractions.
That’s precisely why I like them.
This is the kind of theming you can blow right past when you’re rushing from one Lightning Lane to another.
World Showcase is better when you occasionally stop doing that.
Canada Far and Wide Is Hidden Inside the Pavilion
Eventually those canyon pathways lead you to Canada’s actual attraction: Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360.
And if you’ve never experienced a Circle-Vision movie before, this is not just a regular film playing on one enormous screen.
You stand in the center of a theater surrounded by screens, creating a panoramic view that wraps almost completely around you.
The film takes you across Canada, showing off the country’s landscapes, cities and culture on a scale that works particularly well with this kind of presentation.
And because the screens surround you, you will inevitably spend part of the movie doing this:
Wait. Which screen am I supposed to be looking at?
Answer: all of them. 😂
What Is Canada Far and Wide Like?
Canada Far and Wide is much more of a classic EPCOT attraction than a thrill ride.
There are no ride vehicles. No drops. No Lightning Lane strategy required.
You simply walk into the theater and watch the film while standing.
That last part is worth knowing.
There are no traditional theater seats.
There are leaning rails, but if you’ve already been walking around EPCOT all day and were hoping the Canada movie would provide 12 glorious minutes of air-conditioned sitting, this isn’t quite that kind of attraction.
Still, I think it’s worth doing at least once—particularly if you enjoy the original idea behind World Showcase.
This is EPCOT saying, Here is this enormous country. Let us show you a little bit of it.
And as someone who has spent time traveling through Canada, I appreciate that.
But the Canada Far and Wide Waiting Area Is a Fantastic Place to Rest
Ironically, while there aren’t any actual seats inside the Canada Far and Wide theater, there is a ton of seating in the waiting area outside it.
And this is actually one of those little EPCOT things that I think is worth knowing about.
The waiting area is tucked pretty far back inside the Canada Pavilion, underneath all that rockwork. It’s covered, noticeably darker and cooler than being out on the World Showcase promenade, and there are plenty of places to sit down.
Honestly, if I were visiting EPCOT with a younger child who needed a little sensory downshifting, I would absolutely keep this spot in mind.
I wouldn’t promise that it will always be quiet—this is Disney World, after all. 😂 But because it’s hidden so far back inside the pavilion and most people aren’t wandering through Canada Far and Wide all day long, it has the potential to be a much calmer place to regroup for a few minutes.
It’s also just a really good place to sit down when you need a break.
Which makes it slightly hilarious that Disney gives you all these lovely seats while you’re waiting for Canada Far and Wide…
…and then makes you stand up for the entire movie.
Boo. 😂
Stop at the Canada Kidcot Fun Stop
Like every World Showcase pavilion, Canada has its own Kidcot Fun Stop, where kids can pick up the Canada activity card as they make their way around EPCOT.
But I particularly like the location of this one.
The Canada Kidcot area is tucked back inside the pavilion near Canada Far and Wide, surrounded by all that Canadian Rockies-inspired rockwork. There are tables and chairs, it’s covered, and it feels considerably more removed from the chaos of the World Showcase promenade.
That makes this a really nice Kidcot stop to actually stop at.
Let the kids work on their Kidcot activity for a few minutes while everybody sits down, cools off and regroups before heading back into EPCOT.
And if you’ve got a younger child who is starting to get overstimulated, this entire Canada Far and Wide/Kidcot area is one of those little hidden spots I would absolutely keep in my back pocket.
Check What’s Playing at the Mill Stage
Canada also has an outdoor performance venue called the Mill Stage, located near the front of the pavilion.
The entertainment here can change over time, so I wouldn’t plan your entire EPCOT day around seeing one particular act unless you’ve checked the current schedule first.
But if something is performing while you’re nearby, stop for a few minutes.
That’s one of the things I love about World Showcase entertainment. You don’t necessarily need to schedule every second of it.
Sometimes you’re walking around EPCOT, hear music coming from a pavilion and think:
Well. I guess we’re doing this now.
Those little spontaneous stops are often some of the best parts of the day.
Check the My Disney Experience app when you visit to see what entertainment is currently scheduled at the Canada Pavilion.
Don’t Forget to Explore the Canada Pavilion Shops
Canada also has a small collection of shops tucked into the pavilion, including the Trading Post.
This isn’t Mitsukoshi-level shopping where I disappear for 45 minutes and emerge wondering what happened to me. 😂
But it’s still worth poking your head inside.
You’ll typically find Canadian-themed merchandise, apparel, souvenirs and plenty of maple-related things because apparently Canada has wisely decided to fully embrace its brand.
And frankly, I support this.
Canada Is Much More Than What You See From World Showcase
I think that’s the biggest thing people get wrong about this pavilion.
From the promenade, Canada looks relatively simple.
Beautiful gardens.
Big fancy hotel.
Done.
But the best part is hiding behind all of that.
Walk into the pavilion and you discover an entire Rocky Mountain landscape, complete with streams, bridges, waterfalls and canyon walls. Keep going and there’s a Circle-Vision theater tucked inside the mountain.
And we haven’t even talked about the food yet.
Because Canada also happens to have Le Cellier Steakhouse, Canadian cheddar cheese soup, maple popcorn and one of the cutest chocolate mousse desserts I’ve ever been served.
There is a moose involved.
Obviously. 😂
Where to Eat in the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT
Okay. Now we need to talk about food.
Because for a pavilion that doesn’t have a huge number of dining options, Canada has managed to produce several foods that have become pretty darn iconic at EPCOT.
The big one, of course, is Le Cellier Steakhouse.
But you don’t necessarily need a table-service reservation to eat something delicious in Canada. There is also maple popcorn, which smells absolutely ridiculous when you’re walking past it, plus festival food booths depending on when you’re visiting.
And yes, Canada has figured out multiple ways to put maple syrup into things.
As it should. 😂
Le Cellier Steakhouse Is the Big Canada Pavilion Restaurant
Le Cellier Steakhouse is tucked underneath the Hotel du Canada, and it is one of those restaurants that feels almost completely disconnected from the bright Florida sunshine outside.
You walk in and everything becomes dark, cozy and vaguely castle-like.
Stone arches. Wood beams. Warm lighting.
It really does feel like you’ve descended into a wine cellar—which is exactly the point.
Le Cellier has also been one of the better-known EPCOT restaurants for years, particularly if you like steak.
And I finally ate here.
Spoiler alert: I get it.
Start With the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup
There are certain Disney foods that become famous enough that you almost feel obligated to try them eventually.
The Canadian cheddar cheese soup at Le Cellier is one of those foods.
And yes.
It’s good.
It’s rich, creamy and absolutely not something I would classify as a light little starter before wandering around EPCOT for another six hours. 😂
But this is one of Le Cellier’s signature dishes for a reason.
The soup is also served with the restaurant’s bread service, and this is one of those occasions where you need to exercise restraint because you theoretically have an entire steak coming.
Good luck with that.
And Yes, Le Cellier Does Steak Very Well
Obviously, if you’re eating at a restaurant called Le Cellier Steakhouse, there is a decent chance you’re here for the steak.
Mine was excellent.
Le Cellier is definitely on the more expensive end of EPCOT dining, so this isn’t where I would send someone who simply needs dinner before their next Lightning Lane.
This is more of a we are choosing Le Cellier as part of our EPCOT day meal.
If you love steak and want a substantial sit-down meal, though, this is one of the strongest dining choices in World Showcase.
And after walking approximately 19,000 steps around EPCOT, sitting in a dark Canadian cellar while someone brings you steak isn’t exactly a hardship. 😂
Save Room for Dessert
This is where things get adorable.
Because Le Cellier has served a Chocolate Moose.
Not mousse.
Well, technically mousse.
But shaped like a moose.
Disney understood the assignment. 😂
Mine arrived in a little wooden moose-shaped dish with chocolate mousse forming the face and body, chocolate eyes and maple-leaf-shaped decorations for the antlers.
Was this necessary?
Absolutely not.
Did I love it?
Obviously.
Menus change, so I would always check the current dessert offerings before promising a child—or yourself—that the chocolate moose will be waiting.
But if it’s available when you visit, come on.
You’re eating chocolate mousse shaped like a moose in Canada.
Le Cellier Is Worth Considering—But It Is a Commitment
Here’s where I would put Le Cellier in the larger EPCOT dining equation.
I wouldn’t necessarily tell every first-time visitor that they have to eat here.
EPCOT has too many excellent restaurants for that kind of blanket recommendation.
But if you love steak, want a quieter table-service break, or have always wanted to try one of EPCOT’s longtime signature restaurants, Le Cellier is absolutely worth considering.
Just remember that this is a substantial meal.
You’re probably not leaving Le Cellier and immediately thinking, You know what sounds good right now? Eating around the World Showcase festival booths.
Plan accordingly. 😂
Get the Maple Popcorn
If you don’t want a full meal, Canada has a much easier contribution to your EPCOT snack itinerary:
maple popcorn.
And you can usually smell it before you even get close to the cart.
This is freshly popped popcorn coated in sweet maple flavor, and it’s exactly the kind of snack that makes sense here.
Is it sophisticated Canadian cuisine?
No.
Is it delicious?
YES.
It is also extremely easy to share, which makes it a good choice when you want to try something in Canada without sacrificing all remaining stomach capacity to it.
Although I make no promises about how much actually gets shared once you start eating it.

You’ll Also Find Joffrey’s Near Canada
There is also a Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company location in this general area of World Showcase, which is handy if your EPCOT survival strategy includes caffeine.
Mine frequently does. 😂
The specialty drinks rotate, so what you find on your visit may be completely different from what I’ve tried.
This isn’t something I would consider a uniquely Canadian experience, obviously, but it’s a convenient stop—especially if you’re beginning or ending your World Showcase loop on this side of the park.
Don’t Forget About Festival Food in Canada
If you’re visiting during an EPCOT festival, Canada frequently gets another dining option in the form of a festival marketplace.
And Canada has produced some pretty popular festival dishes over the years.
Festival menus change from year to year, though, so I wouldn’t build an evergreen Canada Pavilion guide around one particular item.
Instead, check the current festival menu before your trip.
This is especially important if you’re considering Le Cellier. If Canada has several festival dishes you really want to try, you may not also want to schedule a giant steak dinner on the same day.
Your stomach has limits.
EPCOT does not care. 😂
How Much Time Should You Spend in the Canada Pavilion?
If you’re just walking through the gardens, you could technically see Canada in about 10 or 15 minutes.
I wouldn’t.
Give yourself at least 30 minutes if you want to actually walk into the pavilion, explore the canyon, see the waterfall and browse the shops.
If you’re adding Canada Far and Wide or stopping for entertainment, you’ll obviously need more time.
And Le Cellier turns Canada into a much longer stop.
This is another reason I don’t love ranking World Showcase pavilions by how many attractions they have.
Canada doesn’t have a ride.
But you could very easily spend an hour here without eating a meal- and considerably longer if you do.
Is the Canada Pavilion Good for Kids?
I think Canada is actually more fun for kids than it initially appears.
There isn’t a Disney character meet and greet or a Frozen-style attraction pulling families into the pavilion.
But there are waterfalls.
Bridges.
Canyon pathways.
A giant movie surrounding you on every side.
Maple popcorn.
And an entire fake mountain to explore.
Sometimes kids don’t need an attraction with a 75-minute wait and an animatronic princess.
Sometimes you can just give them a bridge and a waterfall. 😂
Is the Canada Pavilion Worth Visiting Without Kids?
Absolutely.
In fact, Canada may appeal even more to adults who enjoy World Showcase for the exact reason World Showcase exists.
You can wander through beautiful landscaping, appreciate the architecture, watch Canada Far and Wide, catch some live entertainment, shop a little and finish with a very grown-up steak dinner at Le Cellier.
Or skip the steak and eat maple popcorn on a bench.
Both are valid adult choices.
What Should You Absolutely Not Miss in the Canada Pavilion?
If you only have a short amount of time, my biggest recommendation is incredibly simple:
Walk all the way into the pavilion.
Don’t stop at the Canadian flag flower bed.
Don’t photograph the Hotel du Canada and leave.
Follow the pathway into the rocks.
See the canyon.
Walk across the bridges.
Find the waterfall.
That’s the part of Canada that is easiest to miss—and I think it’s the best part.
If you have more time, add Canada Far and Wide. And if Le Cellier fits your budget and dining plans, that’s obviously the pavilion’s major food experience.
And grab maple popcorn somewhere in there.

Is the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT Worth Visiting?
Definitely.
And I think Canada is one of the best examples of why I love doing World Showcase this way instead of simply treating the countries as scenery between rides.
Because Canada doesn’t scream for your attention.
There isn’t a marquee attraction looming over the promenade telling you that you need to go inside.
Instead, the pavilion gradually unfolds as you explore it.
The formal gardens become the Canadian Rockies.
The Canadian Rockies become a canyon.
The canyon leads to a waterfall.
And hidden inside all of that is an entire Circle-Vision theater.
Then you can come back out, buy some maple popcorn and go eat steak underneath a fake Canadian hotel.
EPCOT is weird.
I love it. 😂
And after visiting the actual Canadian Rockies, I think I appreciate this pavilion even more. Disney obviously condensed an enormous and incredibly diverse country into one tiny corner of Florida, but there are moments back in that canyon where they really did capture something recognizable about the landscape.
Canada is not a pavilion to look at from the World Showcase promenade.
It’s a pavilion you need to walk into.
Visiting the Canada Pavilion During an EPCOT Festival
If you’re visiting EPCOT during one of its festivals, make sure you check what is happening in Canada before your trip.
The pavilion can get additional food offerings during festival season, while the already-beautiful landscaping fits particularly well with the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
And because festival days can become overwhelmingly food-focused very quickly, Canada is also a good reminder to occasionally stop eating and go look at something. 😂
