Sunshine Tree Terrace Review: Don’t Overlook This Adventureland Dessert Stand

Wondering if Sunshine Tree Terrace is worth visiting? Read my honest review of this Adventureland dessert stand, including the I Lava You Float and how it compares to Aloha Isle.
Estimated reading time: 5 minutes
Poor Sunshine Tree Terrace.
It has the unfortunate job of being located practically next door to Aloha Isle.
And let’s be honest… that’s a tough act to follow.
When most people walk into Adventureland looking for a frozen treat, they’re heading straight for a Dole Whip.
I get it.
Heck, I usually do the same thing.
But Sunshine Tree Terrace deserves a little love too.
While I haven’t worked my way through nearly as much of the menu here as I have at Aloha Isle, I have tried the I Lava You Float—and I’m glad I did.
Would I choose it over my beloved Pineapple Upside-Down Cake?
No.
But that’s setting the bar awfully high.
If Aloha Isle didn’t exist, I’d happily grab dessert here instead.
Where Is Sunshine Tree Terrace?
You’ll find Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland, just a few steps away from Aloha Isle.
Because they’re so close together, I think a lot of guests naturally drift toward whichever line is shorter… or whichever menu catches their eye first.
The menu here changes fairly often, especially when Disney introduces seasonal frozen treats.
If you’ve visited before, don’t assume you’ll find exactly the same offerings on your next trip.
Sunshine Tree Terrace is also just a short walk from Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, making it an easy place to grab dessert after one of my favorite table-service meals in Magic Kingdom.

What’s on the Menu?
Sunshine Tree Terrace specializes in citrus-inspired frozen desserts.
Depending on when you visit, you might find:
- Citrus Swirl
- Orange Bird-themed treats
- Floats
- Soft serve
- Seasonal specialties
The menu rotates more than some other snack stands, so it’s always worth taking a quick look before walking past.

What I Ordered
I Lava You Float ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
This was a fun one.
The I Lava You Float combines bright citrus flavors with orange soft serve, fruity Fanta, and little popping candy pearls that crackle and pop while you’re eating it. It’s playful without feeling over-the-top, and the orange flavor is refreshing instead of overly sweet.
I also love that it feels a little different from most Disney desserts. There are plenty of chocolate treats, cookies, cupcakes, and sundaes around Magic Kingdom, but this has a lighter, tropical feel that’s especially welcome when it’s hot outside.
The popping candies are a nice little surprise. They don’t completely change the dessert, but they add a fun bit of texture and make the whole thing feel just a little more “Disney.”
Would I rank it among my very favorite Disney snacks?
Not quite.
But I still ranked it #14 out of 22 Magic Kingdom snacks, which tells you I enjoyed it quite a bit. And if you’re looking for something refreshing that’s a little different from the classic Dole Whip next door, it’s absolutely worth considering.

What I’d Order Again
The I Lava You Float.
No question.
It’s the only thing I’ve tried here so far, but I’d happily order it again.
Actually, Sunshine Tree Terrace is one of those places that’s still on my “next trip” list.
Disney changes the menu often enough that I’m always curious to see what’s new.
Is Sunshine Tree Terrace Worth Stopping For?
Yes…
with one small caveat.
If you’ve never been to either Sunshine Tree Terrace or Aloha Isle, I’d probably tell you to start with Aloha Isle.
It’s simply one of the iconic snack locations in all of Walt Disney World.
But if you’ve already had your Dole Whip…
Or if you’re looking for something a little different…
Sunshine Tree Terrace is absolutely worth a stop.
If frozen treats aren’t what you’re craving, another one of my favorite nearby snack stops is Sleepy Hollow. Their famous Nutella Fruit Waffle is my second favorite snack in all of Magic Kingdom and a great option if you’re looking for something a little more substantial.
Who Should Visit?
I think Sunshine Tree Terrace is perfect for:
- Citrus lovers.
- Anyone looking for a refreshing frozen treat.
- Guests who have already experienced Aloha Isle.
- People who enjoy trying Disney’s seasonal snacks.
If you’re hoping to try more than one specialty dessert during your Magic Kingdom day, I’d also recommend stopping by Storybook Treats in Fantasyland. The Rapunzel Sundae is one of my favorite frozen treats in the park and makes a great complement to the citrus flavors at Sunshine Tree Terrace.
Final Thoughts
I don’t think Sunshine Tree Terrace is trying to compete with Aloha Isle.
And maybe that’s why I like it.
It’s just quietly doing its own thing.
If you happen to be walking through Adventureland and you’re in the mood for something cold, don’t automatically join the longest line you see.
Take thirty seconds to look at Sunshine Tree Terrace’s menu first.
You might just find your new favorite frozen treat.
