How to Create the Canvases:

  • So, check out how much fun this is! Set out two bowls with dark and light blue paint and let your kid paint the stormy blue sky. Just for fun, paint your own canvas at the same time.

  • Let the paint dry.
  • Pour the glitter in a bowl and stick everything in a shallow cardboard box so that the glitter won’t get too messy.

  • ‘Paint’ each snowflake with the craft glue and then cover with glitter. As the snowflake is ‘glittered,’ set it aside to dry.

  • In order to minimize glitter mess (because who wants glitter falling off the canvas and leaving a trail in the house), paint a generous coat of glossy mod podge on top of the glittered snowflake.
  • Let the snowflakes dry.
  • When both the snowflakes and painted canvases are done drying, use either craft glue or a hot glue gun to stick the snowflakes onto the canvas, simulating snow falling in a snowstorm.
