Terra Treats Review: Don’t Sleep on These Animal Kingdom Desserts

Is Terra Treats worth visiting at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Here’s my review of the Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich, Carrot Cake Sundae, and whether this hidden dessert stand deserves a stop.
Estimated reading time: 6 minutes
I’ll be honest…
Terra Treats isn’t exactly the kind of place that jumps out at you.
It’s a tiny snack stand tucked away on Discovery Island, and if you weren’t looking for it, you could probably walk right past it without giving it a second thought.
That would be a mistake.
Because somehow this little stand with basically two desserts has become one of my favorite places to grab something sweet in Animal Kingdom.
Actually, one of the desserts here landed at #3 on my Best Animal Kingdom Snacks list, so that should probably tell you how much I like it.
It Isn’t Fancy…But That’s Kind of the Point
One thing I appreciate about Terra Treats is that it isn’t trying to be something it’s not.
There isn’t a giant menu.
There aren’t fifteen different seasonal desserts to choose from.
You walk up, look at the menu for about thirty seconds, make your decision, and that’s about it.
Lately, though, it has become a little more popular thanks to social media. The Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich has made the rounds on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, so don’t be surprised if you see a line.
I know that usually makes people nervous.
It shouldn’t.
The line looks worse than it actually is.
Since there are only a couple of menu items, everyone orders pretty quickly, and I’ve never felt like I was standing there forever.

There Really Isn’t Much Seating
One thing to know before you order…
Don’t expect a big seating area.
There really isn’t one.
That’s never bothered me because I usually just wander over to the low wall across the walkway, sit down for a few minutes, and enjoy my dessert there.
Honestly, it’s kind of nice.
Disney vacations can feel like you’re constantly hurrying to the next Lightning Lane or the next show. Terra Treats almost forces you to slow down for ten minutes.
I’m okay with that.
What I Ordered
Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich

This thing is ridiculous.
Like…
How are you even supposed to eat it?
The first time I ordered it, I remember looking at it and thinking, “Well, this is going to end badly.”
I wasn’t wrong.
It melts.
It squishes.
Chocolate ends up everywhere.
And I’d order it again tomorrow.
The brownie is incredibly fudgy, there are chunks of cookie dough throughout, and the vanilla ice cream keeps the whole thing from becoming overwhelmingly rich.
If you’re trying to eat this while walking…
Good luck.
Find somewhere to sit.
Your shirt will thank you.
I also don’t think most people need one all to themselves.
Unless you’re absolutely starving, I’d split it.
Carrot Cake Sundae

I almost feel bad talking about this one.
Not because it isn’t good.
It’s actually really good.
It’s because it’s standing next to one of my favorite desserts in Animal Kingdom.
The carrot cake is moist, the soft serve is creamy, and I really like the caramel with it. It’s a fun twist on a traditional carrot cake without feeling gimmicky.
Here’s the problem.
Every single time I walk up to Terra Treats, my brain does the same thing.
“You should get the carrot cake this time.”
Five seconds later…
“Yeah…but the brownie sandwich.”
So I get the brownie sandwich.
Again.
That probably tells you everything you need to know.
Is Terra Treats Worth Stopping For?
For me?
Absolutely.
I actually like these little specialty snack stands more than the places with giant menus.
They know exactly what they’re good at, and they stick to it.
Terra Treats isn’t trying to compete with a full bakery.
It’s just serving a couple of really solid desserts.
And honestly…
That’s enough.
Final Thoughts
If you’re walking around Discovery Island wondering whether Terra Treats is worth your snack credit, I’d say yes without much hesitation.
Come for the Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich.
Try the Carrot Cake Sundae if you’re a carrot cake fan.
And don’t let the line scare you away.
It moves fast, the desserts are worth it, and sometimes sitting on a little wall with melting ice cream is exactly the kind of break you didn’t realize you needed.
Other Places to Find Great Desserts at Animal Kingdom
Still have room for one more sweet treat? Here are a few of my other favorite dessert stops around the park:
- 🍍 Tamu Tamu Refreshments: If you only visit one other dessert location, make it this one. The Pineapple Crisp Sundae is my favorite dessert in Animal Kingdom and one of my favorite desserts anywhere at Walt Disney World.
- 🌺 Pongu Pongu: Located in Pandora, Pongu Pongu is famous for the colorful Night Blossom and the unique Pongu Lumpia, a warm pineapple cream cheese spring roll that’s unlike anything else in the park.
- 🥣 Satu’li Canteen: Don’t skip dessert after your meal. The Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse is one of my favorite Disney desserts, and the beautiful Mangkwan Mousse is another excellent choice.
- 🍩 Nomad Lounge: If you’re looking for a more relaxing place to enjoy dessert, Nomad Lounge serves warm churros with vanilla crema and strawberry-guava sauce that are absolutely worth the stop.
- 🧀 Eight Spoon Café: While it’s best known for its incredible pulled pork mac and cheese, Eight Spoon Café also serves Family Churros, making it another solid option if you’re craving something sweet.
