Have Toddler, Will Bounce!

Do you have an active 2-year old? Are you looking to burn some energy and have a blast doing it? Well, a trip to the bounce house for an hour or two might just do the trick.

There are a number of bounce houses and other active indoor play areas in and around Howard County. I will try to ‘test’ them all out in the coming months and let you know what I think.

The drive was totally worth it. We met our friends, and including the three kids with us, there were maybe 10 other kids jumping that day. I don’t know if we chose a good weekend, or if it was the location in an office park outside of Columbia which made Hopper’s less crowded, but I wasn’t complaining. Sweet Pea and her 2-year old friend had plenty of space to jump and fall and not worry about being trampled by older kids. Hopper’s features five huge bounce castles, one being a double 2-story bounce-slide (that may actually count as two… it was hard to tell). The bounce ‘houses’ ranged in complexity from a straight up bounce till you drop arena, to a maze with ladders and tunnels. the 2-story bounce slides were just amazing. Sweet Pea and her friend probably climbed the ‘ladder’ to the top about 30 times in a row, screaming and giggling every time they slid down the slide.

If you need something fun for an early toddler or non-walking infant, there is also a play area with various ride-on toys, push toys, and balls. Sweet Pea actually was more interested in the ‘vacuum cleaner’ at first. I guess she didn’t realize how much fun that slide would be. Additionally, adults are welcome to bounce with the kids… I tried it and had a blast too!

Here are additional details if you decide to check it out:
