One of the best things about the Patapsco Valley State Park Avalon/Orange Grove Area is that it is incredibly accessible. It is a jewel for parents who want to get outside with their kids.

This bridge is positively iconic. The views of Patapsco River are spectacular from this bridge.
I cannot stress enough how amazing this trail is. It is wheelchair accessible. It is paved, wide, and relatively level (no hills to speak of).
Another option that doesn’t involve crossing the swinging bridge is to walk along the remains of River Road, on the River Road Trail.
The start of the Cascade Falls Trail makes it look like a doozy of a hike. However, that could not be further from the truth! This hike is amazing!
