Good morning and happy Monday! I hope you had an amazing weekend. We did– it was full of nature walks, throwing rocks in the river, eating ice cream, bouncing at a birthday party, playing Schubert and Stravinsky, and worshipping! Isn’t Spring great? So full of hope, possibility, and renewal. I love this quote because of its implications for individual striving for excellence and the idea that to succeed, you need to not give up. Read on for another take on this quote, and check out past Sunshine for Your Week posts for more inspiration!

So, here is the other take on this quote. It occurred to me that even though the river is persistent and succeeding in cutting through the rock, its success is totally dependent on each droplet of water doing their part. No one drop of water would have this impact on its own. Nope, they need each other.
Guess what? We need each other too. It doesn’t matter if it is your team at work, your church, a civic organization, or your family. Powerful things can happen when people decide to work together to achieve something great. Sure, individuals can accomplish great things too. However, when the ‘drops of water’ are convinced and motivated to all go in the same direction? Wow! That is mighty!
Of course, great leaders provide the purpose, direction, and motivation to accomplish these great things. Oh, that all of our leaders were great, right?
Thanks for reading and I hope you have an amazing week!
