Shape Turkey Paper Craft For Kids
This shape turkey paper craft for kids is really simple and low mess (low stress). A great activity for Thanksgiving and to teach colors and shapes!
Sometimes the easiest crafts are the best crafts for kids. This adorable Shape Turkey paper craft for kids is ridiculously easy and perfect for really young kids. What I love about this craft is it doesn’t take a ton of prep and it isn’t terribly messy. You can use craft glue, but you could also just give your little ones a glue stick and let them get creative!
If you need a quick and low stress activity to do with your kids while you make Thanksgiving dinner, this turkey craft is perfect! Another great way to use this craft is to teach kids colors and shapes… that’s why it’s perfect for the toddler and preschool ages. The template that’s included will let your kids decorate a circle, rectangle, and triangle-shaped turkey. The turkey feathers are also different shapes.

What You Will Need:
- Cardstock in various colors like brown, yellow, red, orange, purple, and green
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Googly eyes
- Printable template (Free download printable!)
How to Make the Shape Turkey
Step One
Print and cut out the shapes from the FREE printable template (see below). Select colored craft papers for this craft and trace the shapes on the selected colored craft papers. The template includes 3 basic shapes for the turkey body – square, circle and triangle. The other shapes are for the tail feathers, beak and gizzard.

Step Two
Grab the 3 basic shape cutouts and attach the gizzard and the beak on them using craft glue or a glue stick.
Step Three
Attach googly eyes above the beak, on the shape paper cutouts.
Step Four
Trace and cut out the tail feathers from different colored craft papers. The template includes 3 different shapes for the tail feathers, select the one you want; trace and cut them out. This would be a great activity for kids to practice scissor skills. Younger kids will need help with the cutting. Simply attach the tail feather paper cutouts on the back side of the shape paper turkeys.
Step Five
Complete all 3 shape paper turkey crafts. Allow the glue to dry. You can add a popsicle stick or a cardboard paper strip on the back side of the shape turkeys to use them as puppets or bookmarks.
