Galaxy’s Edge Stores: Proprietors of the Storied Black Spire Marketplace

Like New Orleans Square, or a Pavilion at Epcot, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is a whole new world of culture to get lost in. The cutting edge new land harnesses everything imagineers have learned from decades of building theme parks and immersive attractions.

If you thought Pandora was great, you are going to love Galaxy’s Edge. One of the things that is going to make this new land so special is the layers of backstory created just for this new land.

One outstanding example of where this is evident is in the Black Spire marketplace where around every corner, there is a shop with a proprietor who has a fleshed out past and plays a part in this world. Here are some of the Galaxy’s Edge stores that will help put you in your own Star Wars adventure.

Dok-Ondar

This Hammerhead will be in the spotlight of the upcoming Galaxy’s Edge comic. He’s a black market dealer in rare artifacts and runs a Den of Antiquities in Black Spire Outpost.

This is where you would go if you wanted to trade something rare and of high value. You can find a mix of items for sale and for display only. One souvenir Dok has on hand in his shop is the holocron cube there are also historic lightsabers that can be yours for the right price.

Savi and Son

Savi runs a salvage shop, but all things are not as they seem. Use the Disney Play app to translate the sign. This front is used to cover for a workshop where you can build your own lightsaber.

Use materials and designs for the hilt and buy it fully assembled for $109. The experience is guided by shop employees dedicated to balancing the force by sharing knowledge of it.

Mubo

Mubo owns a droid depo where you can see and interact with many of his droids. You can even build on for yourself using either R or BB models. Not only can you create your own droid to take home with you, but the droids communicate with each other using beaconing technology!

Bina

Bina has a creature stall where you can adopt a cute little pet for yourself. The Tauntauns, Rathtars, Worrt Frogs and Puffer Pigs come to life. They can be activated to squawk, shudder, flick their tongues or growl.

Zabaka

Zabaka is a Tydarian and she flits around in her workshop behind closed doors creating toys for children based on the heroes they admire. You may see her silhouette as she listens closely to know what toys she should make next. The toys here are of a different sort. the type young Rey or Jyn Erso might have played with.
