Set aside time every day for a dedicated journaling routine

If you want something to become a habit, you need to work it into your day first. Do you tend to get busy during the middle of the day? Then don’t save your journaling time for the middle of the day! If you have a lot of free time at night then that might be the best time to journal.

If you are finding that there is no good time for you, then you may need to start getting up earlier. By starting your day with journaling, you won’t skip it no matter how busy your day gets.

Set a reminder for it in your phone

If you are forgetful, having a reminder in your phone to remind you to journal could be a good idea. This is especially important if you are going to be journaling throughout the day instead of all in one go.

Start with prompts and other helpful starting spots

Journaling prompts and questions are a great way to get into the habit of journaling because there is a reason to check back in every day. When you have a prompt it will give you guidance. When you have a question to answer, you know you need to come back each day in order to answer the next question.

If you are finding yourself without any inspiration, keep these handy for days when you need an extra push, and create a challenge for yourself to keep you motivated to journal daily.
