Hidden Falls and Jenny Lake

One of the fun things to do is to take the ferry instead of doing the entire hike and do a short hike to make it to hidden falls. While the boat ride is nice, the hike itself is short and enjoyable for kids. The total hike is about 5 miles roundtrip, but it’s only 1 mile total if you take the boat. Hidden Falls is super tall, and there are a few smaller waterfalls on your way, making for a great pit stop for snacks. This place does get a bit crowded, but it’s still worth the hike for the fun sites.

Jackson Lake

If you want an easy hike with a mountain view, Jackson Lake along Lakeshore Trail is the best way to do that! It’s a leisure walk along the shore of Jackson Lake and gives you unobstructed views of the Tetons. You only walk through a short forested area before you reach the lake, and the entire walk is two miles depending on how long you decide to walk around.

String Lake and Leigh Lake

This hike follows String Lake, where you can see views of the mountain range and the lake. You can hike around the lake as much as you want and then turn back to head back to your campsite or go on another hike. Throughout the entire hike, there is a partial shade of pine trees all around you. You cross a bridge that takes you through the two lakes, and then you can see large fish just a few feet below!

Don’t forget your swimsuit! These are great lakes to swim in after (or before) your hike!
