Gratitude Box Craft For Kids (Thanksgiving Theme!)

Gratitude Box Craft For Kids (Thanksgiving Theme!)

This gratitude box craft for kids is perfect for a Thanksgiving activity to do with your family to promote an attitude of being grateful!

This Thanksgiving-themed Gratitude Box Craft for Kids is really the perfect craft and activity to do with any family (but especially with kids) at Thanksgiving every year.

Also, you don’t have to only do this activity at Thanksgiving. Really, getting kids (and adults) in the habit of being grateful is something that is a good idea any time of the year. So, if it’s not November, just switch out the type of paper you use to decorate the box and make it fit the season you are in!

This craft is ridiculously easy and you can probably do the entire craft in less than 30 minutes. Younger kids will be able to participate with help from an adult or older kid. Older kids can probably do this craft on their own.

Of course, the entire point of making a Gratitude Box is to do a gratitude challenge. Check out the end of this post for ideas on how to cultivate gratitue with your family this year… even if this year has been rather challenging.

  1. A second option is you can set the box out at Thanksgiving of the week of (for a shorter duration)

3. On the last day or during the Thanksgiving meal, you can remove the notes and ask children or other guests to guess who wrote which note.

  1. A third option is you could make each day a gratitude theme (or else you run the risk of your kids saying they are grateful for chocolate, Roblox, and the dog every day!). Here are some good themes for gratitude if you choose this option:
  • Your favorite food
  • Someone you love
  • Something you don’t like
  • A favorite toy or object that makes you happy
  • Your favorite memory of the year
  • Someone who helps the community
  • A favorite teacher or mentor at school or church
  • Something good that happened to you this year
  • The best place you went this year
  • Someone who could use prayer
