For a family in need, an uplifting card with words of encouragement can mean so much! If you’re able to, consider adding a little bit of cash to help aid them in their Christmas shopping.

Donate toys to a children’s hospital

Children’s hospitals are full of children who will be spending the holidays from a hospital wing. Consider donating unloved toys from your home or even brand new toys to the children’s hospital to give to those who could use a little something extra this year.

Pay for the person behind you in the drive-thru

The next time you find yourself in the drive-thru, consider paying for the person behind you. By the time you actually get to the drive-thru window, they’ll already have ordered, and you’ll be able to surprise them with a fully paid meal!

Bring cookies to a nursing home

Many nursing homes are full of elderly people who don’t get visited that often. Bring cookies to share at the nursing home for a little something special for them. You can also sit with them and hear their stories or even read them a story.

Give a little extra when you have to tip

You never know what position someone is in when they are working at a restaurant. They could be doing this as a side job, or this could be their full-time gig. Tip your waiter, car wash guy, or even your plumber a little extra the next time you can!

Give the gift of your time to a new mom or parent

New parents are just plain tired! No matter if they work or not, even just getting a few minutes to shower can be a huge blessing! Give the gift of your time to let them catch up on their household duties so they can hit the reset button.

Mom playing with child

No matter what kind of budget you’re on this holiday season, I encourage you to try and give one of these a try! Your heart will be so full of Christmas cheer, and you’ll be spreading joy to those who could really use it this time of year. The holidays aren’t always so jolly, so these little acts of kindness will go a long way toward making them happier!
