But one thing is clear– corn mazes are about as quintessential to fall fun as picking out the perfect pumpkin and indulging in apple cider donuts!
There are soooo many awesome Corn Maze experiences in Maryland. Check out the list below and make your plans now.. because most of them open in September!

1. Magnolia Meadow Farms

Magnolia Meadow Farms is celebrating their 2nd season of fall family fun in 2023!
Located in Thurmont, MD, this fall festival boasts a super large corn maze. Other activities include pumpkin picking, a zipline, mountain slides and 20 other fun attractions.
The season lasts from September 23rd-October 29th.
2. Maryland Corn Maze
The Maryland Corn Maze is one of the most epic corn mazes in the region. The 2023 corn maze theme is Super Heroes. It was named one of the 25 best corn mazes in the US too!
This is an 8 acre corn maze with loads of other fun activities on the farm you can do afterwards like zip lines, jumping pillows, a petting farm, and hayrides!
Open weekends from 16-17 September through the first weekend in November.
3. Summers Farm

Summers Farm moved to a new location in 2022! But the fall fun has not changed! Summers Farm is another fantastic fall festival that has a fantastic 5-acre corn maze. They have a corn maze for kids (or those that don’t want a super complicated maze) and a maze that’s more challenging.
The 2023 theme is Heritage Tradition. They have created this maze with various levels and fun clues along the way!
The Corn Maze and Fall Festival fun starts the weekend of 16-17 September and is open every day except Tuesday through Halloween. There is also a Sunflower Festival in late August/early September!

4. Butler’s Orchard
Butler’s Orchard has a Twisted Corn Maze in addition to the rest of their fall festivities– which are amazing. They have hayrides, pumpkin picking, huge slides, and more! Oh– and delicious caramel apples!
Dates: September 23rd – October 29th; Wednesdays through Sundays plus Columbus Day.

5. Buppertโs Doranโs Chance Farm
This cute farm in Carroll County is perfect for families with young kids. There is a super fun corn maze, a hayride out to the pumpkin fields where you will pick the pumpkins off the vine, and a few animals to feed as well. The pumpkin season runs weekends during October.
6. Greenstreet Gardens
This family run garden in Lothian, MD holds a great fall fest every year! Starting September 16th, Fall Festival is open every Saturday & Sunday until October 29th. They have a corn maze, hayrides, jumping pillow, corn boxes, and more!

7. Montpelier Farms Family Fun Park
This farm park in Upper Marlboro, MD started the season early, by opening their fall festival in mid-September. Festivities include a 7 acre corn maze, hayride, campfires, duck races, gem stone mining, giant slides, and more.
The 2023 dates are 16 September to 5 November.

8. Gaver Farm

Located in Mount Airy, MD, the Gaver Farm fall festival starts earlier than mostโ it opens early September (September 1st to be exact) and is open every day through 31 October! The festival boasts over 45 attractions, including a huge corn maze (and a smaller kiddie maze), cow trains, jumping pillows, giant slides, and a petting farm. In the evening, they host campfires and a flashlight corn maze experience.

9. Sharp’s At Waterford Farm
Sharp’s At Waterford Farm is a great family friendly option in Brookville, MD will start their fall festivities in late fall and through October. This farm, which is operational throughout the year, will offer hayrides, pumpkin picking, scarecrow making, a corn maze, and feeding farm animals.

10. Emily’s Produce
This great family run farm in Cambridge, MD has a lovely fall experience that includes an epic corn maze. The corn maze opens Labor Day weekend and their fall festivities include pick your own activities and plenty of children’s activities to keep everyone happy!

11. Cornfusion Corn Maze
This fantastic corn maze is run by, Showvaker’s Quality Evergreens– a Christmas Tree Farm in Manchester, MD. Their 2023 Corn Maze theme is ‘Mad Scientist’! They also have super fun fall festival activities as well!

12. Bowles Farm
This fantastic corn maze and pumpkin patch in Clements, MD has all kind of fun activities for families. The 2023 corn maze theme is Think Pink!
Dates: October 1st-29th weekends only.

Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch in Middletown, MD is a fantastic place to go pumpkin picking. They also boast a 20-acre corn maze!

14. Councell Farms
Councell Farms is a great stop in Easton for fall fun! They have 20+ farm related activities, including the corn maze, jumping pillow, combine slide and pumpkin patch. You can also get some delicious Vanderwende’s ice cream!
Dates: Opening mid-September until Halloween.

Adkins Farm Market in Salisbury has loads of fun fall options. There are 7 acres of different mazes, plus a play area with climbs, tunnels, games, and a super slide. Weekends in October also include a hayride on the hour.
16. Forrest Hall Farm
This fun farm in Southern MD has all kinds of fun activities for fall like face painting, a petting zoo, and more. They also have one of the nicest corn mazes in Southern MD!

17. Mary’s A-Maze-ing Pumpkins
This fall festival at Mary’s Land Farm in Ellicott City has a great corn maze, live music, pumpkin picking, and tons of animals!
Dates: weekends in October

18. Knightongale Farms
Located in Harwood, MD (Anne Arundel County), this delightful farm offers pumpkin picking, a 3-acre corn maze, hayrides, and a number of other seasonal fun activities for kids. Free activities include pedal carts, a straw bale playground, and a petting farm.
Dates: September 30th-October 29th weekends only
19. Rock Hill Orchard
Yep, we love this orchard for fruit and flower picking.. and of course, ice cream! But they have a lot to offer in the fall too! In the fall, you can take a hayride out to pick pumpkins and apples, try out the pumpkin cannon, get lost in a 15-acre corn maze, watch cows get milked, and even bottle feed the calves yourself (every day at 4pm).
The corn maze is open from September 23rd through the first weekend in November on Saturdays and Sundays.

20. Milburn Orchards
Milburn Orchards is not just about apple picking. Nope, they open up their big Backyard every weekend in the fall season and host themed events like Apple Harvest or Pumpkin Harvest weekend, Autumn Colors, and Trick or Treat weekend. Admission includes access to all the fun activities in the backyard, a boo barn, corn maze, and a petting zoo.

21. Cove Run Farms

23. Hagerstown Corn Maze
This 8-acre corn maze in Hagerstown is actually three corn mazes in one. The 2023 corn maze themes are Brookes House, Celebrate Recovery, and Washington Goes Purple.
The corn maze opens September 2nd and runs weekends through October.
24. Stone View Farm
Stone View Farm in Darlington, MD is opening it’s first annual corn maze in 2023! The theme of their corn maze is ‘Celebrate Harford 250 Year Anniversary’.
Stone View Farm is such a great family friendly place with farm tours, pick your own experiences, hayrides, goats, and more! The 2023 season starts the last weekend in August and runs through October.
25. Glade Valley Farms

26. Brookfield Pumpkins

Brookfield Pumpkins (or Brookfield Farm) is a family run farm in Frederick County that offers a really family friendly fall experience. Their 2023 season runs from Saturday, September 23, through Tuesday, October 31!
There are 15 acres of pumpkins to choose from and they also have a great corn maze to raise money for charity every year!
27. South Mountain Creamery

One of the best creameries in Maryland started fall events for the first time in 2022! Starting in September South Mountain Creamery is offering Sunflowers, a Corn Maze, and a Pumpkin Festival!

28. Maple Border Farm

Opening day for the Maple Border Farm corn maze is September 22, 2023 and will run Friday evenings and Saturdays through October 28th.
The 2023 Corn Maze theme is agriculture and small grains, as they seek to educate and entertain at the same time. There are special themed events include glow in the dark mazes, pac man in the maze, and more!
FAQ
On average a corn maze will take about 45 minutes. However, you could get lost in the maze and it would last an hour or more. Typically there is a kid’s version of the corn maze that’s a lot quicker and easier.
In Maryland, corn maze season starts in late August with the first mazes and typically lasts through the end of October. Some mazes will operate through the first weekend in November.
Some corn mazes have watch towers to make sure guests don’t get lost too much. Others hand out flags or other markers. If you get lost or stuck either ask a fellow corn maze visitor or you can yell for help.
You could, but it probably won’t taste very good. Corn maze corn is grown to feed cattle.
