Pumpkin Patch FAQ

Do I need reservations this year?

Yes—for popular farms like Gaver and Butler’s, especially on weekends. Many farms still cap capacity.

Are all patches stroller-friendly?

Mostly yes, but uneven terrain is common. Bring your jogger or carrier.

Are pets allowed?

Usually no, unless it’s a working service animal.

How long do pumpkins last once you pick them?

Typically pumpkins last 1 month at room temperature or 2-3 months if stored in a cool, dark place. So, if you pick your pumpkin in early October it will still be good for Halloween! Once you carve your pumpkins for Halloween, they will last about 3-7 days before rotting.

When is the best time to pick your pumpkin?

In order to get the best pumpkins don’t visit the pumpkin patch too early, but don’t wait until the end of October either. Early October seems to be the sweet spot between fantastic pumpkin variety and pumpkins that are fully ripe. Unfortunately, this is when everyone else will also be picking pumpkins. So, try to visit during the week or arrive first thing in the morning on pumpkin picking day.
