Montgomery County Parks Halloween Eye Spy Trains

This is really such an adorable event for younger kids! Halloween Eye Spy Trains are offered at both Wheaton Regional Park and Cabin John Regional Park.

From the website: “Halloween Eye Spy Trains roll every Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm, in October starting October 7th.

Pick up your Eye Spy Train card when you board and use it to keep track of all the hidden characters along the tracks.

Purchase tickets in advance online or in-person at the train station. Advance tickets are for the top of the hour, while in-person tickets are for the bottom (or half past) the hour.”

Halloween Themed Glow In The Park at Adventure Park at Sandy Spring

This is a Halloween-themed version of the very popular Glow in the Park event. Here is what it entails:

  • 2 hours of climbing & ziplining
  • Additional 40 minutes for the intial orientation
  • Tickets available every 10 minutes starting at 6 PM until 8:20 PM

Admission (without taxes and fees): AGES 7+$59* and AGES 5 & 6$20* for a 2 hour + 40 minute ticket. 5 & 6 year olds must climb with an adult at a 1:1 ratio

Green Meadows Petting Farm — Trail Of Jack-O-Lanterns

This super fun petting farm in Urbana, MD hold a super kid friendly Jack-O-Lantern trail on select weekend days in October. The 2023 dates are October 7-8, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28, from 530-10PM. The cost is $14/person- credit card only. Green Meadows will offer a trail of lights, jack-o-lanterns of all shapes and sizes, fire pits, and our Animal Barn to see your furry friends.

Available for purchase will be Halloween wagon rides; sweet treats; s’mores, Pumpkin flashlights, glow necklaces, face painting and more!  The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. and last admission is at 7:30 p.m. The trail will open for walkers at 6:50 p.m. and wagon rides will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Bengies Drive-In 5th Annual Trunk or Treat

From their website: “Trunk or Treaters will spend the evening going from trunk to trunk, collecting candy from vehicle owners who have decorated their vehicles. “Trunkers” will be asked to decorate their trunk, tailgate, or hatchback and provide candy for the “Treaters.” You do not have to be a “Trunker” or a “Treater” to attend this night. From their website: “Spooktacular Halloween is designated for families with members that need sensory friendly options. October 7th 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm Enjoy this very special, not scary Halloween event designated specifically for families with members that need a sensory friendly option. We have partnered with the Salisbury University Psychology department to help assist with this event! The first half hour will be designated for those that want to participate in Halloween themed games, then families will be able to Trick or Treat on the Candy Trail around the Zoo.”

Furnace Town Historic Site Halloween In the Forest

It’s that time of year again!!! Come have a fun and spooky night at Furnace Town’s annual trick-or-treat Halloween night. It will be on October 21st 5:30-7:30

Chestertown Halloween Parade

Come downtown on Saturday morning and enjoy adults and kids in costumes, numerous colorful floats, and several local bands. For more than 20 years the Chestertown Lions Club has sponsored the town’s Halloween Parade, and is now assisted by the Washington College Student Association. Contestants receive prizes in various categories. It’ll be great fun for the whole family. Rain date will be the next day, Sunday, October 30 starting at 3:00 pm.

From October 19-22 Ocean City is holding an Oktoberfest event, but during that event there will be a number of kid friendly Halloween activities. Here are the highlights:

Chuck E Cheese Halloween Boo-tacular!
