10 Things to Do with Kids During a Staycation
If you are wondering what to do with kids during a staycation, these 10 tips will ensure your vacation is fun!
If you are stuck at home with cabin fever, a staycation might sound like the last thing you want to do. However you can have a fun staycation with your kids, that doesn’t feel like just another day at home! Here are ten things to do with kids during a staycation.
Let Your Kids Stay Up Late and Sleep In
Your kids are on vacation! So let them stay up past their bedtime and sleep through breakfast. Vacations are meant to break the rules a little!
Play Fun Board Games
Break out the board games and have a fun night of Scrabble, Life, Clue, Monopoly, and whatever kind of game you have to play. You can also play video games if you prefer.
Have Some Water Fun Outside
Make water balloons, get squirt guns, or set up a slip and slide and get wet outside! If you have a pool, then go for a swim, or set up a water obstacle course.
Have an Over the Top Movie Night
Movie nights are fun, but making a themed movie night full of snacks, decorations, and fun is way cooler! Make each night of your staycation a different movie theme!
Read a Really Good Book
If you have a book lover in your home, take advantage of Audible’s free books for kids offer right now. You can also let them do some independent reading and get lost in a good book.
Make Delicious Meals Together
Get your kids in the kitchen and teach them how to cook! Little ones can still help stir a pot of spaghetti sauce or top a pizza.

Take a Tour (Virtual or in person)
Check out what there is to do in your hometown. Most places have at least a few fun museums or zoos that kids would love. If that isn’t possible, you can even visit from the comfort of your couch! Museums and zoos are offering live streams of animals and even virtual tours! Let your kids take a tour and explore somewhere new. You can also find videos of Disney rides and other attractions too.
Set Up Your Tent Inside or in the backyard!
Can’t go to the campgrounds? Why not set up your tent inside? If you don’t want to drag out your entire tent, consider just making a tent out of blankets instead. Have a camp out right there in your home without ever having to leave the house. If you want to camp outside, why not put the tent up in your backyard?

Do Something Creative
Break out your crafting supplies and let your kids get creative! Even if all you have is a coloring book and some crayons, I promise they will love it!
