10 Signs You’re a Mom Who Is Doing Too Much
10 Signs You’re a Mom Who Is Doing Too Much
If you are stressed and overwhelmed, it’s probably for a good reason… Here are the 10 tell tale signs you are a Mom Who is Doing Too Much.
Moms are like superheroes. We take on everything for our families and don’t even bat an eye about it. We handle dinner, laundry, and everything else in between. But what if we’re taking on too much? You don’t have to have a day job to become burnt out as a mom. It can be easy to let mommy burnout go unnoticed if you don’t work outside the home! Here are ten signs that you might be a mom who is doing too much.
You feel anxiety for no reason
Have you ever felt anxious, but you just couldn’t put your finger on why? This might be a sign that you’re doing a bit too much! Having too much on your plate can leave you feeling anxious all the time!
You feel overwhelmed before the day has even started
Busy days will happen as a mom, but if you find yourself waking up every single day dreading the day before it’s even started, it might be a sign that you’re taking on too much.
You’re always tired
If you are always tired, it might be a sign that you lack proper nutrition or that you might not be getting enough sleep.
You lash out at your children or spouse
If you find yourself on a short fuse these days, don’t rule out the possibility of mommy burnout!
You start to feel resentment toward your family
Our families have stressed us out at some point or another, however, if you find yourself starting to resent your family, it might be a sign that you’re doing too much!
Everyone tells you that you’re doing too much
While I am a huge proponent of not listening to what others think, in this case, they might be right. Sometimes others notice that we’re overworked before we do.
You feel like you’re the only one doing something
Have you ever felt frustrated because you’re the ONLY person who is working on a project? While sometimes this might be the case, if you’re feeling this way all the time, it might be because you have too much on your plate. So much, that only you can do all of it.
You can never seem to finish your to-do list
We’ve all experienced the neverending to-do list. The reality is that if you can never seem to cross everything on your list, it might be because you have too much on that list, to begin with.
You can’t remember the last time you had “fun”
If you end up doing too much for others, all the fun parts of life kind of get pushed until “later.” If you can’t remember the last time you did something for yourself that you enjoy, it might be a sign that you’re doing too much.
You can’t seem to concentrate
Stress and concentration do go hand in hand. If you’re feeling frazzled and like you can’t seem to focus, it might be because you’re overworked.
Being a mom can be a stressful job; however, make sure that you aren’t scheduling too many activities for yourself or taking on too much. Hopefully, this list will help you recognize an overworked mom in your life, or maybe even in yourself!
